Unit 10 I’ve had this bike for three years. The Fifth Period (Section B 3a—3b, Self Check) Teaching aims(教学目标) 1.对本单元知识进行一个总结复习。 2. 写作。学会用于作文一篇关于自己童年最喜爱的意见事情。 Language points(语言点) 要求掌握以下句式: have ever been to … have never been to… have gone to … It’s unbelievable that … encourage sb to do … for/since 区别 2.要求掌握以下词汇: (1)动词:consider, hold (2)短语:close to (本节课主要是复习本单元所学知识,并运用所学知识进行写作训练。) Difficulties(难点):1.运用所学知识,现在完成时表达自己小时候映像最深刻,记忆最深的一件事或者一个物品。 Teaching steps(教学步骤) 1. Warm-up and Revision(课堂热身) Revision: (1)Complete the sentences using for or since. 1. I have been to a museum__________________________ 2. I haven’t written a letter__________________________ 3. I haven’t ridden a bike____________________________ 4. I haven’t seen a movie____________________________ 5. I haven’t played computer games___________________ Allow Ss to use their own ideas to complete the sentences. Then check if they are able to use for and since correctly. (2)Complete the conversation. A: Hey Eric,______ you enjoyed your time in Beijing so far? B: Yes, it _______ been great! Everyone is friendly. A: How long _________ you been in China now? B: Oh, I __________ here _____ about two years now. A: Wow, that means you haven’t _____ back to the US for two years? B: No, I ______ been back twice ________ moving to China. ______ you been to the US before, Li Juan? A: Yes, I went there once when I ____ 10 years old, but I _______ not been back ________ then. (3) Translation T: Let’s translate the following phrases into English. 1. 到城市寻早工作 search for work in the cities 2. 一个46岁的丈夫与父亲 a 46-year-old husband and father 3. 一年至少一次 at least once a year 4. 在许多地方 in many places 5. 从城市派老师来帮助 send teachers from the cities to help … Warm up: (group work) T: Free talk: Talk about the softest and sweetest memories in your childhood. Encourage Ss to express their ideas. Elicit responses by asking them some questions, e.g. What made you feel good? Why do you remember this so well? 教学设计说明:为后面的写作教学作铺垫。先口头小组讨论,积累素材。 2. Work on 3a T: Think about your favorite thing from childhood which you still have. For example, it can be a toy or a book. Then take notes using the questions. 1. How long have you had it? 2. How did you get it? Did someone give it to you? Who? 3. Why do you like it so much? Why is it special? 4. Can you say anything more about it? Show the mind map on slide 11 to Ss. Demonstrate to them how to brainstorm ideas using the Wh-words (What, Why, When, Who, How long, etc.) Remind Ss that using a mind map and Wh- words is one of the effective ways of organizing their ideas before writing. 教学设计说明: 为下面的写作进一步奠定基础,做好铺垫。更加具体写作的目标和方向,让基础中等和差一点的学生提笔有写。 3. Work on 3b T: Write three paragraphs about your favorite thing. Use your notes in 3a to help you. Have Ss read the guidelines given on the left-hand side and make sure Ss know how to structure their writing. 教学设计说明: 让学生课堂现场作文,锻炼写作能力。 4. Peer assessment T: Exchange your writings. Read your partner’s writing, and correct any mistakes you have noticed. Also, while you’re reading your partner’s writing, try to find out some good sentences. . (给学生阅读完成的时间) Explain to Ss the six criteria listed on slide 13 for them to assess their partner’s work.教学设计说明: 指导学生学会批改同学作文,学会欣赏同学作文,并相互学习优美语句,加强积累。 5. Share the writing T: Now I’d like share one good composition with you. Listen out for the good phrases and beautiful sentences? T: I’d like to share another composition with you. Please look at the screen and read the sample writing.Compare the two articles, and tell me which one is better. Why? (让学生学会分析文章,欣赏文章) 教学设计说明: 让学生学会分析欣赏文章,对两篇文章进行对比分析,真实感受,领悟,从而学习如何写好一篇文章。 7. Homework 1. Review all the phrases and sentence patterns used in this unit. 教学设计说明: 让学生学会自主复习,自我总结一个单元的知识要点。
