International Charities
一、 Teaching aims:
1. Understand the background knowledge of UNICEF
2. students can get the key information from the listening materials
3. command some useful expressions and make some similar dialogue.
二、Teaching stress and difficulties
1. Students can understand the important words and expressions
2.Train Ss’ listening skills and spoken skills.
三、Teaching procedures:
Step I. Lead in
1. Talk about the changeable weather and people may get sick easily , then lead to some different words about the sickness. (have a fever, have a cold, cough, have a headache ,have a toothache/stomachache)
Step II. Presentation
1.Say: listen to a conversation between a boy and the doctor, and answer four questions .
2.Ask : Make up a new dialogue with your partner, pay attention to the following things: and ask Ss to pay attention to pronunciation and intonation , also add some body languages and show their real feelings
3.say ：to be a doctor is meaningful, especially to be a volunteer doctor of the UNICEF. However, How to be a member of unicef?
Present Five levels:
1) Test reading skills : read through Part A1& 2, and answer some questions.
2) Test listening skills : before listening , underline some important phrases
Then listen and check it , and read together in the correct order.
3) Test communicating skills：Ss need to have an interview. Suppose one of them is the reporter of UNICEF and the other one is the person who wants to be a member. R: Welcome to China. I am a reporter from UNICEF. It says that you feel like being a member of UNICEF. May I ask you some questions about UNICEF?...
Use the Qs in part A 3.
R: I'm pleased with your answers. Now you can join it. / You need to practice more. I hope you will be able to join it soon.

4) Check your memory and finish the report on UNICEF in part A4
5) Group Work --- Test your abilities of solving the real problems in our daily lives. Model with four Qs: Who needs help? What happened to her?
Which charity can help her? How can the charity help her?
Ss Work in groups of four or five. According to the tips, discuss the pictures with group members. At last, One of you need to give a report to us.
Emotional education: The world needs love
Try to help people in need
Try to donate your love to those in need
To help others is to help ourselves......
课后反思：
本节课我在备课的时候，所考虑的问题是：针对本课的课型（听说综合能力的训练和培养），须如何用一条主线把课文内容有意义地串联起来，并由此开展多种形式的活动，从而来指导学生的听说能力， 同时还需考虑如何使语言点落实到实际运用中去。最终确定：导入部分以天气多变容易生病继而展开对speak up 部分的学习，以How to be a member of Unicef ? 为主线，围绕书包内容逐层开展多种形式的活动。组员们还提醒我一些注意点，如最后开展一个group work ：Test your abilities of solving the real problems in our daily lives.让学生能对所学内容进行有效地输出和反馈，可以说是一节课的点睛部分。整节课中，学生的参与热情较高，乐于积极发言，能顺理成章地引入对课文每一部分的教学。在文章主体部分的教学中，学生能准确的完成阅读中的学习任务。以及在最后的拓展活动中，小组内能展开充分的讨论，并给出丰富、精彩的答案，增强了学生间的合作意识和口头表达能力，真正运用英语于实际交流中。
