Explain the meaning of although then lead students to speak out the two sentences .
1 尽管天在下雨,他们还在打篮球。
2 尽管我有地图,我还是迷路了。
Step 3 Explanation
1. Explain to students that we can use ‘’ to join two parts of a sentence. Each part has an opposite idea.
2 Explain that ‘although’ has a similar meaning to ‘but’. However, we never use ‘but’ in a sentence with ‘although’. Remind the students that ‘although’ is followed by a subject and then a verb.
Step4 Doing Exercises
Have Students joins the sentences on P47 ,then check the answers
Step5 leeding in
Test students’ knowledge of ‘unless’. Emphasize the use of ‘unless’ to introduce exceptional conditions. For ordinary conditions, we use ‘if not’ instead
Step6 Doing Exx
Ask students to match the two parts of the sentences on page 48 on their own .Then check the answers.
Ask students to complete the ‘work out the rule!’
Step 7Do Exx in class
Have students do the Exx on the paper
