Teaching aims Aim of knowledge: Key vocabulary: in silence,pass,bright,treasure, day by day, trust, include, circle , stick , glue , suggestion Aim of ability: (1)Understand the story about friendship. (2)Retell the story. Aim of emotion: To be friendly to others and cherish the friendship. Important points: Understand the story about friendship. Learning to learn- the five wh-questions and the sequence Difficult points Retell the story. Say something about friendship. Teaching methods PWP approach Teaching Aids Multimedia,videos, handout worksheet. Teaching Procedures & Activities Learning Procedures & Activities Step 1 Warming up Have a revision. Ask the students to work in groups:Ask for help about friendship. Show Time! Act out their dialogue in front of the class. Step 2: Leading in We all know that friendship is very important in our life. Friends can help a lot. Please imagine you are at a new school, no one knows you.How will you feel? What should you do? So my suggestion (建议)is: don’t sit in silence (安静地), you should trust (信任)people and don’t be afraid to make friends with them. Friends are like a hidden treasure (珍宝), you will feel the touch of something bright (欢快的),you will feel happy, lively and warm. Day by day (一天天地 ),they will include (包括) you in their circle (圈子)of friends. Maybe you will stick (粘贴)together like glue (胶水). Learning Time! Answer the questions. Read the new words and remember them. Check the new words with their partner. Step 3 Watching Today we are going to read a story. It’s about a gift. The gift is important and special. Can you guess what it is? Watch the video, try to answer these questions: 1 Who is the writer? 2 What changed her life? 3 What’s her suggestion? Video Time! Watch the video. Read and check the answers . Step 4: Reading Read and complete the sentences. Reading Time! At first (1) ____ knew me. I felt (2) ____ and was afraid to (3)___ with anyone. Then one day A girl looked at me and (4) ______.I felt (5)______,lively and warm. Now The girl has become my (6)____.I believe that the world is (7) ______ it is. Suggestion: Smile at the world and (8) _____. Step 5 Learning to learn When you read a story, pay attention to the five wh- questions (who, when, where, what and why), and pay attention to the sequence (顺序)(at first, then one day, now...) Show them how to retell the story. Pair work! Retell the story in pairs. Step 5: A survey 1234 Choose the lucky eggs , and answer my questions . One of them is a gift. Who is your friend in our class? What’s he/she like? Can you get on well with your friend?When you are sad, what will your friend do for you? Choose one to answer. 1 Can you tell us a moving (感人的)thing between you and your friend? 2 Listen and guess who is my friend. Fun Time! Choose and answer the questions. Enjoy the gift- A true friend. A life without a friend is like a day without the sun. Step 6 : Homework Describe your own story about friendship in your workbook.
