Step 1: Revision
1. Daily greetings to the students.
T: Good morning, everyone. My name is ... What’s your name, please?
S1: My name is Lucy.
T: Hello, Lucy! Nice to meet you! (How are you?)
S1: Nice to meet you, too! (I’m fine. Thank you!)
T: And what’s your name?
S2: My name is ...
2. Revision (Practise in fours.)
S1: Good morning! What’s your name?
S2: Good morning! My name is Jack! And what’s your name, please?
S3: My name is Lucy.
S2: What’s his name? (Pointing at S1)
S3: His name is ...
Step 2: Presentation
Bring the number cards to the classroom and show them one by one to the students. The teacher says:“Please tell me how to say it in English.”
S1: It’s one. O-N-E, one.
S2: It’s two. T-W-O, two.

Step 3: Practice
Play three games to practice the numbers.
1. Give every students a card. There is one of the numbers from one to nine on the card. Tell the students when I say the number, if they have the number, please stand up and say it aloud.
2. Now let’s play another game. Let me tell you how to play this game. When I say “two”, if you have the number “three”, please stand up and say it aloud.
3. Now we play one more game. Let me tell you how to play it. When I say “two”, if you have the number “one”, please stand up and say it aloud.
Step 4: Practice
1. Then give them some car numbers, room numbers to read out.
2. Show the students some phone numbers. Let them read out aloud.
Then drill:
T: What’s your telephone number, please?

T: What’s his/her telephone number?

Then let the students practise in fours.
Step 5: Tasks
1. Section B 1b, 1d
Ask the students to listen to the tape and finish the exercises.
