·turn down 关小；调低；拒绝。
►So we have to turn down the other a little bit.;turn down 还表示“拒绝”。
►How can you turn down such a poor little girl.
·take turns依次，轮流。
►Let’s take turns fill the bottles with water.
·turn back折回；往回走。
►Suddenly, he turned back running to me.
·turn out生产；驱逐；翻转；结果是。
► It didn’t exactly turn out as I planned.结局并不是我计划的那样。
（2）It is + adj.(for sb.)+to do sth.
► It’s hard to stop riding in cars.
► It’s difficult for parents with young children to use public transportation.
（3）stop to do sth. 与stop doing sth.的区别
·stop doing sth是“停止做某事”，doing是stop 的宾语，是要停止的动作。
► The two girls stopped talking when they saw me. 那两个女孩一见到我就停止了讲话。
·stop to do sth 是“停下来开始做某事”，to do是stop的状语，表示目的，是要开始做的事情。
►The two girls stopped to talk to me when they saw me. 这两个女孩一看到我就停下来和我讲话。
