“It is said that”是被动用法，意思是“据说，人们说”。类似用法：It is said/believed/supposed/reported that...（据说，据报道……）
► It is said that he is a brave boy.= People say that he is a brave boy.据说他是一个勇敢的孩子。
（3）In England tea didn’t appear until around 1660，but in less than 100 years，it had become the national drink.在英国，茶直到1660年才出现，但是在不到100年的时间里，它变成了民族的饮品。
not...until...直到……才……，表达的是一个肯定的意思。
► I didn’t go to bed until ten o’clock last night.我昨天晚上十点才睡觉。
（4）Some leaves from a tea plant fell into the water and remained there for some time.
一株茶树上的几片叶子落到水里并停留了一段时间。
① fall into意为“落人;掉入”。
如：He was drunk and fell into the water. 他喝醉了掉进河里去了。
fall asleep 入睡 fall down倒下；落下
fall in love with 与......相爱 fall over被......绰倒
fall off跌落；从......掉下来
② remain (to stay in the same place)此处用作不及物动词，意为“停留;逗留”。
► How long will you remain here?你要在此地停留多久？
remain 作连系动词，表示“仍然是（处于某种状态）；保持不变”，相当于keep。其后可接形容词、名词、分词或介词短语作表语。
► It remained a secret. 它仍然是个秘密。
remain 作名词 意为剩余物，多用复数。
► The archeologists found some remains of the Song Dynasty. 考古学家发现了很多宋朝的遗留物。
（5）The tea trade from China to Western countries took place in the 19th century.从中国到西方国家的茶叶贸易出现在19世纪。
take place发生；出现
► Great changes have taken place in our hometown during the
 past ten years.在过去的10年，我的家乡发生了巨大的变化。
注：happen作“发生、碰巧”解，一般用于偶然或突发性事件。happen 与take place 通常都没有被动语态。
（6）Even though many people know about tea culture，the Chinese are without doubt the ones who best understand
the nature of tea.尽管很多人了解茶文化，但是中国人无疑是最了解茶文化的。
even though（=even if）从属连词，意为：“即使，即使……也……”，引导让步状语从句。Even if的从句中含有强烈的假定性，even though则多以从句之内容为前提。
► Even though he is poor, she loves him.即使他很穷，她也爱他。
► Even if I have to sell my house，I’ll keep my business.即使我卖掉房子，我还是要继续我的事业。
without doubt无疑地；必定；当然。通常还可表示为：no/beyond doubt，
► It is no doubt difficult.这无疑是困难的。
► No doubt he didn’t mean to hurt you.他肯定不是有意伤害你的。
► Without doubt this is the best.无可置疑，这是最好的。
► Beyond doubt he will give you some advice on your study.毫无疑问，他会给你的学习做一些指导的。

书面表达。介绍茶是如何偶然发明的。
Did you know that tea, the most popular drink in the world (after water), was invented by accident? It is said that a Chinese ruler called Shen Nong was the first to discover tea as a drink. One day Shen Nong was boiling water over an open fire. Some leaves from a tea plant fell into the water and remained there for some time. It produced a nice smell so he tasted the brown water. It was quite delicious, and so, one of the world’s favorite drinks was invented.
