Teaching procedure
Lead in
1. Ask Ss “Do you like collecting stamps?” to lead them in the lesson.
2. Ask Ss “What is the most expensive postage stamp in the world?” to tell them something interesting. 邮费;邮资已付邮戳
The most famous rare and expensive stamp is the 1856 British Guiana, 1 cent, 'Black on Magenta'. It is considered to be worth as much as US$ 3 million today, but has not been sold since 1980 when it went for US$ 1 m.
The other contender for most expensive stamp is the 1855 Swedish Treskilling Banco Yellow, which sold in 1996 for US$ 2.3 million.

He made it a rule to get up at six every morning.(规定)
Soon I started to look for more stamps with interesting pictures.
start v.(动词)
词型变化: started; started; starting; starts
start doing sth/ start to do sth 开始做某事
I learnt a lot about our country and its great culture from the stamps!
learn about sth from是指从某个地方或者从某人身上学到关于……的知识。例如:
我从爸爸那里学到了许多历史知识。
I learnt a lot about history knowledge from my father.
Collecting stamps is really educational and fun.
collecting stamps 是一个名词性的短语,可做句子的主语。动词+ing组成动名词词
组放句首做主语的情况有很多。例如:
学习英语是很有必要的。
Learning English is very necessary.
(动名词作主语, 谓语动词用单数)
