课题:Unit 2 What time do you go to school? 第三课时 Section B (1a—1e) Learning Goals: In this period, the students will learn the ways to say times. They’ll know there are two ways to say each time, and the use of past and to is a difficulty for the students. At the same time, the students will learn some phrases and use them to make conversations and practice their listening skills. The students are supposed to pay attention to the verb forms in their sentences. Teaching and learning steps: Step 1 Review Write some times on the blackboard and let the students read them (First read the hours, then read the minutes). eg, 11:00, 4:05, 7:10, 9:15, 5:30, 2:45, 10:55 (上面列举的几个时间很有代表性,除了复习上节课学习的时间读法---先读小时,后读分钟,还为将要学习的第二种读法做了铺垫,后面的学习能充分运用这几个时间来练习。) Let the students use the phrases learned in Section A to ask and answer in pairs like this: A: What time do you get up? B: I usually get up at six o’clock. When do you go to school? A: I always go to school at seven thirty. (这一复习环节既复习了上节课学习的重要短语,又复习了what time和when两个疑问词的运用,并指出他们的共同点和差别。) Pre-listening activities: Step 2 Presentation Draw a clock on the blackboard and mark some special points, such as 12, 3, 6, 9 on the clock. Tell the students the second way to read times. If the time doesn’t pass the half hour, we’ll use past to say the time; and if the time passes the half hour, we’ll use to to say the time. (本环节属于导入新课,先在黑板上画一个钟表,并标出几个特殊的时间。告诉学生我们将要学习时间的第二种读法,即先读分钟,后读小时。如果不超过半点,分钟和小时中间加past,如果超过半点,分钟和小时中间加to) Let the students look at the times on the blackboard and try to read them in a new way. (让学生看黑板上写下的时间试着去读,老师可以先用新方法读一个做示范。) Point out: half past …, a quarter past …, a quarter to … (特别强调几个特殊的点钟的表达,并反复练习,让学生熟练掌握half和 quarter的用法。) Have the students read the times in 1a, then let them match the activities with the time of day. Ask some pairs to practice asking and answering . While-listening activities: Step 3 Listening First let the students read all the phrases by themselves, then tell the students they’ll finish two tasks after listening twice, one is circling the activities they hear, the other is writing the times next to the activities. (本环节为听力训练,为了保证听力效果,让学生先熟悉所提供的短语及听完每一遍的任务,这样学生更有目的性,难度也适当降低了。) Play the tape and let the students finish their tasks. Check the answers. Post-listening activities: Step 4 Practice Let the students read the conversation in 1e, then ask and answer questions about Tom in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. (强调当主语是第三人称单数时助动词和谓语动词的正确运用。这一环节可以多让几组练习,及时指出需要注意的地方。然后让学生用各种人称练习,看学生能否正确运用动词形式。) Inquiry into knowledge by translation: 一、 时间的其他几种表达方式 1. 表示“几点半”,可以用“______+______ +______”或“_____+_____ +_______”。如:6:30______________ ______________ 2. 当分钟数小于30时,可以用“_______+_______ +_______”。如:7:20______________ 3. 当分钟数大于30时,可以用“_______+ _______+_______”如:2:48 ______________ 7:55______________ 4. 表示“十五分钟”,可以用“___________”。如: 3:15_________________ 9:45_______________ 二、“go to bed”、“go to school”这两个词组意为“______”、“______”,bed和school是_______词,故前面都加了介词to。go home意为“_____”,home是_______词,故前面不加介词to。 三、take a walk意为“_______”,其中动词“take”的同义词是______。如:我通常在晚饭后散步。_________________________ The end-of-class test: 一、 用所给单词的适当形式填空。 1. My father usually ______(go) home at five thirty in the afternoon. 2. Tom usually ______(get) up at half past six. 3. ---When does Lucy ______(do) her homework every evening? ---She _______(do) her homework at eight o’clock. 4. ---When do students usually _______(eat) dinner? ---They usually ______(eat) dinner at a quarter to seven in the evening. 5. Scott usually ________(go) to bed at nine o’clock in the morning. 二、 翻译下列句子。 1.学生们通常什么时候吃午饭? ____________________________________ 2.学生们通常在晚上六点四十五吃晚饭。 ________________________________________ 3.汤姆通常什么时间起床? _________________________________________ 4.他通常在五点半起床。 ____________________________________ 5.我通常在晚上七点十五做作业。 _______________________________________ 亮点:教学环节朴实无华,但非常实用。针对重点语法练习充分,适当降低难度,照顾大多数学生的接受能力。通过本节课的练习,不仅训练了学生的听力技能,还强化了学生的口语表达能力。 不足之处:学生对于新学习的时间表达法to和past的使用还有些生疏,容易把两个介词用错,还得加强此方面的训练。 使用建议:本教案适用于中等水平的学生,如果学生基础很好,可以多增加些当堂检测内容,适当把题目的难度加大些。 答案: 翻译探究: 一、1.thirty; past;整点; half; past;整点; thirty past six; half past six 2.分钟数;past;整点; twenty past seven 3.与下一整点相差的分钟数;to;下一个整点数 twelve to three; five to eight 4. quarter;a quarter past three; a quarter to ten 二、上床睡觉;去上学;名;回家;副 三、散步; have I usually take a walk after dinner. 当堂检测: 一、1.goes 2.gets 3.do; does 4.eat; eat 5.goes 二、1.When do students usually eat lunch? 2.Students usually eat dinner at a quarter to seven in the evening. 3.What time does Tom usually get up? 4.He usually gets up at half past five. 5.I usually do my homework at a quarter past seven in the evening.
