Stage1 Getting students ready for learning
Step 1 Greetings
T:Good morning, boys and girls, how are you feeling today?
Ss :I`m feeling happy/excited/disappointed…
Step 2:Students on duty about Tian`anmen Square.
Stage2 Revision(sectionA-4)
Step 1:
T: Class, we have learnt how to prepare for our spring field trip. Can you remember what we should do before going on the trip?
Group activities ,l et the students write down the sentences and the expressions about vacation, then have a competition.
Step 2:The teacher introduce the main idea of the listening, the students predict the content.
T: You all know how to prepare well for a holiday. Well done! Now class, Dinna and Lily are talking about their coming holiday. What will they talk about? work in pairs and make a list.
Step 3:listen to the conversation, and finish 4
Step 4:The teacher show the text, and check the answers.
Stage 3 Pre-listening
Step 1. Teach the word “postcard, receive, explore”
T: Please look at the picture. What`s this?
Ss: It`s …
T:Yes, It`s a postcard. My friend in England sent me the postcard last week. And I received this postcard today. Last year when I was in England, we went to a lot of places in London. That means we explored London
.
Step 2 .Let the students think about what we should do before our friends comes here. Have a group discussion and make a list of suggestions.
Step 3 .Make the students predict the content about what they were talking. Look at 1b, and then finish it.
Stage 4 While-listening
Step 1.Play 1a, the student and his/her partner listen carefully, and finish 1b together.
Step2 .Just listen , finish 1c.
Step3.Listen the third time, and check the answers of 1b and 1c.
Step 4. Let student read the text by themselves, three students make one group who practice the dialogue.
Step5 .act out 1a in the front of the class.
Stage 5 Post-listening
Step 1. Look at the example sentences of 3, try to summary the using of “when /while”
Step 2. Finish the exercise of 3 ,make another four new sentences with “when/while”
Step 3. Check the answer and practice.
Step 4. Let the students think how to respond
① your friend wants you to help him with his homework. But you have to meet your head teacher in the office.
②one of your classmates invites you to his birthday party. But you want to prepare for the exam.
Step 5. Use the new sentences to make a new conversation about invitation.

The students like Beijing very much. They are interested in exploring Beijing. They can grasp the sentences about invitation, suggestion, agreement and request well. And they understand the usage of adverbial clause of time easily.
