Pre-listening 1. Look at the pictures and predict the problems of environment. 1. Show the pictures. 1. Help ss to make a prediction. 5 第二环节  完成听力 Step 2 Listening. 2. While listening Listen to the recording and finish listening on P58. Arrange the pictures in the correct order by writing the numbers in the box. After listening Answer the questions: ① Where does Tammy live? ② What problem did Tammy find in the afternoon? ③ What problems did Louise talk about? ④ How many factors did Louise mention that cause noise pollution? 2. Play the recording and lead ss to finish the listening exercises by taking down the key words. 3. Explain the task to the students: Show an example to students : Present some expressions and sentences. 2. Cultivate ss’ listening ability. 3. Arouse ss’ interest in thinking and talking. 10 第三环节 表示关切和担忧。 Step3 Speaking Learn the expressions of concern 3. Speaking practice. ①Discuss different situations: when someone is ill when someone is hurt when there is an accident when there is a fire when we see someone polluting the environment ② The words use to express concern- I’m worried about the weather./ I’m concerned too. 4. Give ss a hand when they discuss different situations. What words do students use to express concern? 4. Lead ss to talk more on the given task. 10 第四环节 课时小结 Step 4 Speak up 4. Make a dialogue on the following two situations: ①You’ve just heard that a classmate is seriously ill. You plan to see him/her. You and your mother are having a conversation about it. ②You’ve heard the news that a cigarette end caused a big forest fire, resulting in the deaths of three people and the injury of over 40. The firemen spent a whole week putting out the fire. You and your friend are talking about this news. 5. Encourage ss to make a dialogue. 5.
