Teaching procedures and ways 教学过程与方法 Step I Revision T: In the last lesson we learn to add the prefixes to an adjective. Now I’d like two of you to come to the blackboard, the others take out your exercise books. Let’s have a dictation. necessary – unnecessary polite – impolite regular – irregular honest – dishonest correct – incorrect T: Well done. Today let’s come to Grammar. Turn to page 81. Step II Lead-in This activity deals with the analysis of sentence elements and Ss are required to have a good knowledge of the Five kinds of sentence structure. 1. Give Ss the terms of sentence elements subject(主语), predicate (verb)(谓语动词), object(宾语), direct object(直接宾语), indirect object(间接宾语), predicative(表语), object complement(宾补) T: Now let’s analyze a simple sentence “I love you.” Analyze the elements of the sentence and explain the relationship of them. 2. Come to the five kinds of sentence structures one by one. First show the samples, then use the terms of sentence elements to analyze them. Sentence I S Vi The swan is swimming Birds can fly The moon rose The sun is shining We all breathe, eat and drink Sentence II S Vt DO Sandy is watching a bird They don’t have enough living space We do a bird count they are inviting their friends Many people don’t understand the importance of the wetlands Sentence III S V (be) P Birdwatching is interesting Zhalong is a nature reserve It is an ideal home More and more birds are in danger They look beautiful Sentence IV S V IO DO Sandy gave the doves some food We had better give them more space He shows us some pictures of birds Mum buys me a parrot She usually tells us stories Sentence V S V DO OC Sandy calls her parrot Chatty We name the bird the red crowned crane They made him monitor of their class She finds the film interesting People think him an honest boy Step III Practice Do the exercise on page 81 Step IV Presentation T: Well done, next let’s come to B. we usually use the simple present tense when we talk about programmes, timetables and calendars in the future. T: Now look at the dialogue and pay attention to the simple present tense. Jane is going birdwatching in Zhalong. Betty meets her at the school gate. Betty: Hello, Jane. When are you going off to Zhalong? Jane: Next Thursday. Betty: How are you getting there? Jane: By train. Betty: What time does your train leave? Jane: It leaves at seven. Betty: When does your study begin? Jane: Our study begins next Monday. Betty: When do you come back? Jane: We return to our school next Saturday Betty: Well, I must be off. See you when you get back. Have a nice time in Zhalong. Jane: Thanks. Bye! Teacher lets Ss practice the dialogue orally. After that explains the simple present tense used to talk about future plans. Step V Practice The Ss come to organizing a school trip and finish the seven sentences on page 83. After that Ss make up dialogues according to the sentences to do oral work. Step VI Homework Make a dialogue about organizing a school trip, using the simple present tense to talk about the plan.
