Step I Revision
T: In the last lesson we learn to add the prefixes to an adjective. Now I’d like two of you to come to the blackboard, the others take out your exercise books. Let’s have a dictation.

Step II Lead-in
This activity deals with the analysis of sentence elements and Ss are required to have a good knowledge of the Five kinds of sentence structure.
1. Give Ss the terms of sentence elements
subject(主语), predicate (verb)(谓语动词), object(宾语), direct object(直接宾语), indirect object(间接宾语), predicative(表语), object complement(宾补)
T: Now let’s analyze a simple sentence “I love you.”
Analyze the elements of the sentence and explain the relationship of them.
2. Come to the five kinds of sentence structures one by one.
First show the samples, then use the terms of sentence elements to analyze them.

T: Now look at the dialogue and pay attention to the simple present tense.
Jane is going birdwatching in Zhalong. Betty meets her at the school gate.
Betty: Hello, Jane. When are you going off to Zhalong?
Jane: Next Thursday.
Betty: How are you getting there?
Jane: By train.
Betty: What time does your train leave?
Jane: It leaves at seven.
Betty: When does your study begin?
Jane: Our study begins next Monday.
Betty: When do you come back?
Jane: We return to our school next Saturday
Betty: Well, I must be off. See you when you get back. Have a nice time in Zhalong.
Jane: Thanks. Bye!
Teacher lets Ss practice the dialogue orally. After that explains the simple present tense used to talk about future plans.
Step V Practice
The Ss come to organizing a school trip and finish the seven sentences on page 83.
After that Ss make up dialogues according to the sentences to do oral work.
Step VI Homework
Make a dialogue about organizing a school trip, using the simple present tense to talk about the plan.
