Teaching steps:
Step1, Free talk
Ask a student to introduce his/her favorite book or singer.
Step2, Revision
1. Have a dictation of important words and phrases.
2. Check the answers, let them try to make senteces with some of the phrases.
3. Let them read the sentences in Grammar Focus, try to sum up how to use present perfect tense, then finish the exercises in self check.
Step3, Pairwork
Let Ss talk about books they’ve read.
A: Have you read…?
B: Yes, I have.
A: What’s it about?
B: It’s about ….
A: What do you think of it ?
B: I think it’s interesting / ….
Who is your favorite singer ?
A: My favorite singer is….
Ask two students and finish self check 3.
Step 4, writing
1. Read the words and phrases in 3b, ask some students to complete them.
2. Give Ss some time to write a passage about the singer or writer. Ask two of them to read to the class.
Step 5, Exercises
Check the answers in Zi Zhu Xue Xi . Then do more exercises.
Step 6, Have a test
Step 7, Homework
