Step 1 Checkin
1.Check Ss’ homework.
2.Lead into the new items in the period.
Step 2. Presentation
Present the pictures of six road signs in Part A.
2. Write the words and phrases on the blackboard: Turn left/right ,traffic lights,,straight on,crossroads,zebra crossing.
3.Teach the students the words .and phrases about the road signs.
4.Students read and remember the words and phrases about the road signs.
Step 3. Practice
1. Ss practice the phrases above by giving the English individually.
1). 向右/转（进入）
2). 在第二个十字路口向左/ 右拐
3）. 在红绿灯路口向左/ 右拐
4）. 直走（直到你看见）
5). 沿着这条街走到尽头
6). 在某人的左/ 右边
II. Recognize these traffic signs and practice them in pairs using the sentences structures :
What can you do when you see this sign? I can ?I must ….
Step 4 Presentation
I. Present the patterns of asking ways to Ss by eliciting Ss’ answers on the Bb as a summary.
1. Excuse me, can / could you tell me how I can get to…?
2. Excuse me, can / could you tell me how to get to…?
3. Excuse me, where is …?
4. Excuse me, do you know the way …?
5. Excuse me, can/ could you tell me which is the way to…?
II. Present Ss some pictures. Pair Ss practice asking ways with the patterns above. Encourage those who do well in the step.
Step 5. Consolidation
Page 47 Part B:
1.Let Ss read the three pictures, covering the words above.
2.Teacher read the covering words and Ss listen
3.Ss choose the right picture .
4.Ss read the covering words and check the answers.
5.Teacher check Ss’answers.
Step6. Explain the new language items in this lesson.
1. straight on “一直向前”
straight：形容词时表示“直的,不弯曲的”,副词时表示“直接地、径直地”
a straight line 一条直线,

cross the road “过马路”
cross ：动词时表示“穿越,穿过” , 名词时表示“十字形,十字架”
Be careful when you cross the road. 过马路时要小心。

Make up their conversations with the patterns of asking ways.
Andy 想去苏果超市，向警察问路。需要沿走和平路直走，在第三个十字路口向左拐进入牛山路，沿着牛山路走左拐，你就会看到苏果超市的入口在你的左边。
