The Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, is a big lake in the Jordan Valley. The lake is about 400 meters below the sea level. It joins Israel and Jordan. From Jerusalem (耶路撒冷), it takes about an hour to drive to the Dead Sea.
The Dead Sea has the largest “Natural Spa (矿泉)” in the world and it is also one of the world’s true natural wonders and a popular tourist attraction.
Visitors to the Dead Sea can not only enjoy a world of blue skies, year-round sunshine, great natural sightseeing, but also choose special touring activities. There you’ll find something strange and interesting. Fish can’t live in the salty water and plants can’t grow near it, either. People can’t swim well in the Dead Sea, but they can float on the water. People in the lake can’t sink. You can see people floating on the lake, reading books or newspapers.
There are also wide beaches, hotels, spas, restaurants and free-time activities. Besides, the thermo-mineral spring (热矿泉) and the black mud are very famous because they are good for people’s skin and health.
The Dead Sea is a wonderful place for you to take your holidays with your family.
