教学过程
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the students as usual.
Step 2 Presentation
Ask:Boys and girls,do you have some problems in your study or your life? What are they? Ask some students to report their problems.
Then ask:Your friends have problems,what should they do? Can you give them some advice? Help the students to give advice by using “You should / could….”,“Why don’t you…?”
Step 3 Practice
1a Ask the students to read the sentences in 1a and translate them quickly. Then ask them:Do you think they are serious or not? Write them in the appropriate box. Then ask some students to report their answers.
Help the students to understand and remember the important phrases:too much,too many,allow sb. to do sth.,hang out,get into a fight with,after-school classes.
Step 4 Listening
1b Listen and circle the problems you hear in 1a. Play the recording twice if the class think it is difficult. Then ask some students to report their answers.
Step 5 Game
Say:Suppose each of you have a problem,please work in groups and make dialogues like this:A:What’s wrong? B: I’m really tired because I studied until midnight last night. C:Why don’t you go to sleep earlier this evening? What’s wrong? A:I got into a fight with my best friend. B:You should call him to say sorry to him. What’s wrong? C:…
Then ask some groups to act out their dialogue.
Step 6 Listening
2a, Say:When we give advice,we usually use “could” or “should”. Please go through the sentences in 2a and try filling in the blanks with could or should. Then ask some students to report their answers.
Then say:Peter’s friend is giving him advice. Listen carefully and fill in the blanks with could or should. Check the answers together.
2b, Say:Peter doesn’t like his friend’s advice. Why? Go through the sentences from a to e and then listen carefully and write the letters a-e next to the advice in 2a. Finally ask some students to report their answers.
Step 7 Pair work
Now let’s work in pairs. Suppose you are Peter and your partner is Peter’s friend. They are talking about some problems. Please make up sentences between them. Then ask some pairs to act out their dialogue.
Step 8 Reading
Read the dialogue in 2d and try to translate the following words and phrases: look through,guess,deal,big deal,work out,give back to,be angry with,although. Ask some students to report their answers and explain some difficult ones.
Ask one pair to read the whole dialogue and then ask the students to practice in pairs. Then ask some pairs to role play the dialogue.
Step 9 Homework
Think of as many problems as possible and give reasonable advice.

教学反思
通过让学生说出自己生活和学习中的困难和问题,帮助学生理解“任何事都不是一帆风顺的,我们总会遇到这样那样的困难,面对困难我们要积极想办法解决。”如果能利用多媒体创设更多的情境,让学生能身临其境就更好了。
