Step 1 Lead-in
Play a video about Zhai Zhigang.
Enjoy the video
To lead in the new lesson.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Present some pictures of great people .Ask students some questions:
e.g.: Who is he/she?
What did he/she do?
What was he/she famous for?
2. Teach some new words while presenting.
1.Look at the pictures and try to answer the questions.
2.Learn the new words.
To let students get familiar with these great people. To arouse students’ interest and let them understand the new words further by presenting pictures.
Step 3 Exercises
1.Ask students to finish Part A and B on Page 57 in the text book
2. Check answers as a class.
3. Ask students to read out Part B as a whole sentence.
Finish Part A and B on Page 57 in the text book, then check answers. Try to read out Part B as a whole sentence.
Make sure students are familiar with these occupations, the names of great people and their contributions to the society.
Step 4 Discussion
Ask students to talk about these great people with their partners, using the given dialogue model.

— ______________________.
— Why do you admire ___?
— Because ____________.
Talk about these great people with their partners, then present their dialogue in pairs.
Step 5 Listening and speaking
1.Ask students to listen to the tape and answer some questions.
2.Ask students to read after the tape .

Step6 Practice
1.Ask students to practice the dialogue two and two, then act it out.
2.Go around the class while students are practicing.
Practice the dialogue two then act it out. Some pairs of students present their dialogues to the class.

Step 7 Exercises
Ask students to finish the exercises on the paper.
Give them some help if necessary.

Finish the homework after class, Remember the words and expressions.
