Unit 8 Topic 2 Uniforms have many uses in our lives. SectionB Section B needs 1 period. Section B 需用1课时。 The main activities are 1a and 2. 本课重点活动是1a和2。 Ⅰ. Teaching objectives(教学目标): 1. Go on learning the patterns “It’s + adj. + that …” and “It is + adj. + (for sb.) + to do sth.” It is important to wear suitable clothes on every occasion. It’s impolite for the man to wear jeans to go to the formal party. 2. Go on learning object clauses: Can you tell me what I should wear here? Could you tell me where the special shoes are? Ⅱ. Teaching aids 教具 多媒体/ 录音机 III. Teaching procedure: Step 1 Present some new words by a guessing game 1. Guessing game: show some pictures about different occupations, such as policeman, doctor, nurse, teacher, farmer, worker. (猜词游戏:用图片展示不同职业的人穿的服装,让学生猜出他们的职业) 2. Show another 3 pictures about the new words: gatekeeper, attendant, customer.(通过另外3副图片引入新单词:看门人,侍者,顾客) 3. Teach the new words. (教学新单词) Step 2 Presentation 第二步 呈现 1. Show a picture about the U.S. President Obama, and present: “Does he dress correctly?” to present new word: correctly. (通过美国总统奥巴马的图片引出新单词:correctly) 2. By answering the question “Does he dress correctly?” we can conclude: It is important to wear suitable clothes on every occasion. (通过学生回答问题得出结论:在每一个场合穿合适的衣服是重要的。) 3. Tell students: “ Next we will listen to 4 dialogs, do they dress correctly? Now, listen and finish the following 4 tasks.” (通过告知学生:接下来我们将听到4个对话,他们穿得得体吗?请听后完成以下4个任务) 4. Listen to the tape one dialog by one. And answer the questions. 1) Dialog 1(listen and answer the question) : Can you tell me what he should wear there? 2) Dialog 2 (listen and fill in the blanks) : Attendant: Sorry, sir. You have to _________your ________shoes. Customer: Oh, sorry. Could you tell me ______the _________shoes are? Attendant: This way, please. 3) Dialog 3 (listen and fill in the blanks) : Mother: You should ______ _____your shoes when you ______someone’s home in _______. Daughter: Yes, Mom. 4) Dialog 4 (listen and answer the two questions): 1.What’s the matter with Kangkang? 2. What should he do? Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 巩固 1. Let students listen to 1a and follow it. Imitate the pronunciation and intonation. (跟读磁带,熟悉1a) 2. Pair work: Read 1a in roles and perform short plays in pairs. (两人活动:分组表演1a 里的4中场景) 3. Let students read 1a, find out the object clauses with “wh-question”. (让学生再读1a,迅速找出带有特殊疑问词的宾语从句) 4. Show a picture about me let students ask questions with object clauses, , pay attention to the sentence order. (展示一副关于自己的图片让学生用宾语从句来问问题, 注意从句的语序) Eg: Can you tell me? 1. Who is she? 2. What does she like? Can you tell me _____________________? Can you tell me______________________? 5. Exercises about object clauses. (展示幻灯片2张,练习宾语从句的语序问题) 6. Activity 1b. 1) work alone. (独立完成) 2) check the answers on PPT. (核对答案) 3)Read 1b together. (齐读1b) Step 4 Practice 第四步 练习 1. Show a picture about Jane and Maria and conclude: (展示图片总结1a) It is important to wear suitable clothes on every occasion. = It is important that we wear suitable clothes on every occasion. Sentence patterns: It’s +adj. (for sb.) to do sth. It’s +adj. +that 从句 2. Do some exercises about above sentence patterns together. (老师带领学生一起做关于以上句型的练习) Eg: 1. It’s important for students to listen to the teacher. 2. It’s important that students listen to the teacher. 3.Work alone: show two pictures and let students make sentences by themselves like the example. (让学生仿照以上例句用句型自己造句) 4. Show a picture about a stuent and ask “ Is it suitable for the student to wear this kind of clothes?” (展示一副学生穿着不当的图片并提问.) 5. Make a conclusion: 1. Right occasion for suitable clothes. 2. You are what you wear! 6. In- class exercise on PPT. (课内练习) 7. Make a summary: 1). How to ask, using Object Clause(宾语从句): (小结本课重点) Can you tell me what I should wear here? Could you tell me where the special shoes are? 2). Sentence structure: It’s adj. (for sb.) to do sth. It’s adj. that clause Step 5 Homework (课后作业) 1. Read 1a as loudly as you can. (大声朗读1a) 2. Write a short passage about: different occasions, different clothes. (写一篇关于《不同的场合,不同的着装》的短文 3
