I want to talk about the book called “gone with the Wind”, written by American writer
Margaret Mitchell. When I was in high school I read the book at first time. I was attracted by
the content of the book. The book is set in American South during the Civil War and
Reconstruction. The heroine is Scarlett, a beautiful young girl but with a strong will and
determination, give me a deep impression. She couldn’t figure out who is her true love till
she finally loses that love. The handsome and smart guy who fell in love with Scarlett at first
sight is Rhett Bulter. Though he knew Scarlett was crazy about another man, he still cared
about her and tried everything to move her with his passion.
What impressed me most is the vitality and determination Scarlett has. During the war, the
city was destroyed and the people were frustrated, but never did Scarlett. Standing on the
red earth of her plantation Tara, she swore to herself that she would never be defeated.
Scarlett made up her mind to strike out on her own. She got a famous saying: tomorrow is
another day. With her shrewdness and perseverance, finally she survived and succeeded

as everything around her died.
Whenever I got in difficulties, her words will linger in my mind. Tomorrow is another day.
Though we maybe fail today, yet we still have tomorrow to look forward to. When I failed to
find a satisfied job, I encouraged myself: “tomorrow is another day.” Now I have successful
career.

Do old people have different taste on reading books?
Yes I think old people like reading history stories and some masterpieces. They think it
should be classical.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of reading books for entertainment
compared with watching TV or films?
Ok, just let me think... Well, I think the main advantage of reading books is that they do a lot
for your imagination. It is more challenging and you have to work harder to gain your
knowledge. TV is less challenging and doesn't make you think as much. But the main
disadvantage is that books just take too much time to get through. TV is more convenient
and time efficient and that's why I think so many people like it.
Do you like reading?
No I don’t like reading. I do not have the patience. For example, I have never been able to
read a book from start to finish. Maybe the books I have tried were not interesting enough.
What kinds of books do you like best?
I like novels. Please allow me to explain. Firstly, I like to read a storyline that is full of
intrigue and suspense. For example, many love stories have characters who are involved
in all sorts of conflicts amongst them. The most common one known all over the world
since ancient times is the so-called ‘love triangle’.

Why do you like to write the book?
答答：
I’m not good at writing, but if I want to write a book, I want to write an autobiography of
myself.
It is a memoir I think. So the name of the book is my successful life.I will write my whole life
in the book such as my childhood, my career and my hobby.

I’m an ordinary person. However, in my life it happen so many interesting things. I often
experienced strange things. I will write some in my book. The most important thing is I‘d like
to write my parents in the book. They play important role in my life. They taught me how to
overcome the difficulties, what’s the strong will. They help me getting through my
depressed period.
Also I will tell the readers the secret of the success. I have a successful career. I want to
share my experience with audience. If someone want to know how to gain success, it is
suitable to read my biography.
However, the book is not as attractive as the biography of famous people. I can tell you a
true life of an average person. Maybe it is similar to other’s life. So I believe somebody will
be interested in my biography.

The basic requirement is you should have plenty knowledge of writing and life. You must be
an experienced person. Books come from real life.
Have you thought of writing a book?
No. because I know I cannot write excellent books and become best-sellers.
Why do people make a living by writing?
I have never thought of this question. There are various ways to earn one’s life, so people
have right to choose to be a writer. they can write books which are very popular. Books can
sell very well. And they had natural language ability that can help them write beautiful
passages.

I ‘m interested in reading books, especially the life of famous people. I like the
Autobiography of Helen Keller best. The book tells me the whole life about the person. I
was 12 years old when I read it first. I didn’t understand the book at first. After I worked for
several years, I read it again. Now I was deeply moved by this book.
Helen Keller was a deaf, blind and dumb. She entered such a situation 18 months after her
birth. I really can’t imagine how she survived. She couldn’t listen, speak or see. Indeed, she
felt depressed for a long time because of the disaster she had to face all her life. But a
woman changed her life. She helped Helen become one of the strongest people in the
world.
I learnt strong will from this book. I will overcome difficulties as Helen did. I know it is much
easier to say than to do. Anyway, since a handicapped girl can overcome all of them, why
can I not to do it. I appreciate the spirit of Helen, her determination in overcoming every
difficulty and her optimistic attitude towards life.

I think books printed on paper will disappear. Books will be released on internet. And it is

I would write a love story. I often wish meet romantic love. I can imagine what happen. I can

It is necessary to improve library, library plays an indispensable role in the education.

I saw the elephant when I was 5 years old. I was deeply impressed me by its giant with big
ears and long trunk. The elephant was very friendly. The elephant seems always smiling
with his open mouth.

I watched one program about elephant after several years. I got to know that they live a
carefree life in African safari parks. Elephants like to live in big families and the parents give
great care to the babies. They are kind and friendly with other animals and never behave
aggressively except when threatened by bigger animals. Normally an elephant can live for
about 50 years. When an old elephant knows he is dying, he will find a quiet place to die by
himself without bothering his family. In some countries like Thailand elephant is regarded
as a divine animal which can bring luck and happiness to the people. They are also used
as labor to deliver goods or trained to perform in the circus.
Now, it‘s more difficult to find a wild elephant. Because many elephants were killed by
people who want to get its ivory. We have to go to zoo to see the elephants. May be the
government should take some measures to protect elephants.

Let me introduce a hamster is a kind of mouse, and it is smaller than a rat. It doesn't have
long tail, and its mouth is not sharp. Hamsters have a lighter color, something like gray. I
like hamsters because they are very cute and have a good temper. Moreover, hamsters
like to run around a wheel and can go for 15-20 minutes without stopping. It is fascinating

I saw the panda first time in a zoo. I like it very much. I collect much information from then
on. Many people have seen pictures of the panda, and some have seen the panda in zoos.
Most people think they look like interesting. It has a white coat with black fur around their
eyes, on their ears, muzzle, legs and shoulders. The unique physical features of the

species include broad, flat molars and an enlarged wrist bone that functions as an
opposable thumb - both of these adaptations are used for holding, crushing and eating
bamboo. I've had the pleasure of seeing pandas at the Giant Panda Breeding Research
Base in Chengdu, which is a research station where about 10-12 pandas live. The base is
quite large, so you can see them live naturally, and in much better conditions than at a zoo.
At this place you are guaranteed to see pandas during their feeding times. I managed to
watch them feeding and the thing that astonishes you is just how much they can eat. The
thing that also strikes you about the panda is the "teddy bear look" that they have, and the
way that they look at you makes you feel they are begging for you to take them home as a
pet.
In my opinion, no animal better represents both the beauty and struggle of wildlife in China
than the panda. The panda is, of course, an endangered species, because it is so fussy
about its breeding, and so every panda alive today is special-like an emperor. I hope that
the panda population will one day thrive again, but I think it is going to mean more of this
kind of research station and I'll be happy if all the pandas in the zoos around the world can
be transferred into these more humane conditions at research stations.
