A tale of two cities
I have read the novel of Chinese copy before, so I was excited when I touched the English copy. It is a pity that I have not finished it yet , but I will continue next time.
The writer, Dickens , is a famous author for his unthinkable skill in sharp tone and rhetoric technique .I knew all these knowledge about him in my middle school. Now it is a chance for me to speak out my feeling of enjoying this representative work of Dickens'. As many other novels, it includes many different people. Doctor Manette is honest and kind, Lucia is beautiful ,gentle ,and Lorry is upright ,and Evremonde brothers are cruel...I like the humorous that is handled skillfully in the novel. You know he lacks the humor of the early works. In the novel , Dickens described a contradicted society before The French Revolution. It is the background. He took the fictional character Doctor Manette’s experience as the main, and he wrote him in deep. I am deeply fascinated in the writter’s wonderful skill in the situation between he and his doctor, Lucia who took care of him and help him return to normal. From such places, I conclude that Dickens spoken highly of kindness and love in the novel. I also think it is really valuable.
The tale of two cities is a historical story, one of Dickens’s long fictions. I am so lucky to read it. I will continue to enjoy the novel and recite it all through my life.
