一．句型结构
1. Add up the numbers and you will know the result..

祈使句+ and +简单句=if 引导的条件状语从句,+ 主句

If you add up all the numbers, you will know the result.
祈使句+ or + 简单句= if not

2. 强调句

基本结构: It is/was + 被强调部分 + that……
判断方法：去掉It is/was …that， 仍然是一个完整的句子

可用来强调句子中除谓语以外的任何成分

I met Mary in the street yesterday.
It was I that/who met Mary in the street yesterday.
It was in the street that I met Mary yesterday.

强调句的一般疑问句形式： Was/Is + it + 被强调部分 + that + 句子其他成分

Was it you that broke the news to her?

强调句的特殊疑问句形式：疑问词+ is/was + it + that +句子其他成分

What is it that Joe has found in the washroom?

3. It / This is the first/second… time that somebody has/have done sth. 这是某人第一/二…次做某事
It/ That was the first/second… time that somebody had done sth. 那是某人第一/二…次做某事.

It is the first time that I have visited Beijing.
It was the first time that I had visited Beijing.

4. 宾语从句 引导词+陈述语序

宾语从句当中要使用陈述句语序 （主语在前，谓语在后）。

5. It’s no pleasure doing sth 做…已经没有乐趣了

6. I would be grateful if…..如果…..,我会非常感激的

二．重点词组
1. Add up/ add up to add to add….to….

2. till/ until 直到….(为止) 与延续性动词连用
not ……until……直到…. 才…. 与短暂性动词连用

I’ll wait for you until 12 o’clock.
He didn’t come back until 12 o’clock

3. be concerned about 为… 担心，关心
be concerned with 与…有关的，涉及

4. should have done 本应该做某事而没有做
shouldn’t have done 本不应该做某事而做了
must have done 过去肯定做过某事，表示对过去的肯定推测

I should have called you last night.
You shouldn’t have lied.

5. a series of 一连串的，一系列，一套

series 单复数同形

series of + 名词 作主语时， 谓语动词的单复数取决于series 本身的单复数。

A series of films about him has come out.
Two series of tapes have been prepared.

6. have trouble/ difficulty/ a problem with/ in doing sth 做… 有困难

7. get along (well) with 与…相处，进展

8. fall in love (with sb) 相爱，爱上 短暂性动词短语，不能与一段时间的时间状语连用

如果要表示相爱的状态，用be in love (with sb)

They fell in love three years ago.
They have been in love for three years.

9. in order to & so as to
in order to so as to

in order that so that

可用于句首、句中 不可用于句首

in order to & in order that
in order that 引导的从句，其主语如果和主句的主语一致，可改为in order to 引导的短语
My father works hard in order that he can support(养活) the family.
=My father works hard in order to support the family.

10. More than
More than +数词= over 超过，多于
More than one 虽在语义上为复数，但作主语时，谓语动词用单数形式
More than one student is good at English in our class.
More than two hours are needed to finish the homework.

More than + n. 不只， 不仅仅
More than + adj = very 非常
More than + 句子（句子中常含can/could） 非….所能
More A than B 与其说是B，不如说是A

11. More ….than ever before 比以往任何时候都多

12. Even if = even though 尽管，即使，引导让步状语从句
Even if we have learned “even though”, we still find it difficult to use.

13. because & because of
because 为连词，后接从句
because of 为介词短语，后接名词、代词或动名词。
He is absent today because he is ill.
He is absent today because of his illness.

14. come up
a. 走近，走到跟前
b. （太阳、月亮）升起来了
c. 提出 vi. Sth come up
A new idea came up at the meeting.
come up with 提出 vt. sb come up with sth
She came up with a new idea at the meeting.

15. Later & latter
Late的比较级与最高级的形式
用法

The former…..the latter…..前者……后者……..

16. A number of & the number of
A number of = many 许多 它所修饰的主语谓语动词用复数
The number of …..的数目， 它的谓语动词用单数

A number of teachers are present today, and the number of them is 300.

17. No such + n….as 没有这样的
No such + 单数可数名词= not such a + 单数可数名词

18. base
sb base sth on sth
sth be based on sth

The writer based his novel on a true story.
His novel was based on a true story.

19. enrich
一中为你充实现在， 你为一中展示未来
No.1 Middle School enriches your present life and you promise her a bright future.

20. 参与，参加
join / join in / take part in/ attend
join in 加入某种组织，并成为其中一员 （the League，the Party ，army）
