三、疑难点总结:
(一)The number of candles is the person’s age. the number of ....的数量,谓语动词用第三人称单数。 11 a number of ...如干,许多,相当于some或a lot of ,谓语动词用复数。
做一做: 用所给词的适当形式填空。
1、There ______(be) a number of teachers under the tree.
2、A number of students _______(like) playing computer games.
3、The number of books in the market _______(be) large.
(二).also, too, either与as well的正确用法。这几个词都可表示―也‖,但用法不同。
1.also较正式,位于be动词,助动词或情态动词之后,实义动词之前。
He also plays the guitar. 他也弹吉他。
2.too多用于口语,位置通常在句末,前面用逗号;也可以在句中,前后都有逗号。在简略答语中,too常位于宾语代词之后。
如:He is a worker, too. 他也是一个工人。
--I want to eat an apple. 我想吃个苹果。--Me, too. 我也是。
3.either用于否定句中,一般位于句末。
如:He doesn't like mutton, either. 他也不喜欢羊肉。 4.as well 通常用于肯定句末中,前面不用逗号。
如:He plays the guitar as well. 他也弹吉他。
