一、 environment and surroundings
environment : 环境，周围状况， 自然环境，社会环境 （including the emotions of the people there ）
Surroundings 狭义的环境，仅只周围的具体的物质性的东西 ,侧重生活、居住的周围环境。( such as trees , buildings , cars etc. )
e. g. The students live happily in beautiful surroundings .
environment 则指对人的成长、情感、观念、伦理、道德、品行等产生影响的环境，意义宽泛，延伸到人类活动的各种领域。
优美的周边环境：beautiful surroundings
幸福的家庭环境：happy home environment
遗传和环境，发展和环境,破坏或保护环境，只能用environment
