(一)走出困惑
1. 辨析get, arrive, reach
get为不及物动词,其后接介词to ,再和地点名词连用;arrive 为不及物动词,其后接介词in 或at,再和地点名词连用,大地点用in 小地点用at;reach为及物动词
其后直接跟地点的名词。
2.辨析take, cost, spend, pay
(1) take 主要指花费时间,常用于 It takes / took sb. some time to do sth.句型中,it 是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式 to do sth.
(2) cost 的主语只能是事或物,而不能是人,常用于sth. cost sb. some money结构中
(3) spend 的主语必须是人,常用于 sb. spend some time /money on sth.或sb. spend some time / money ( in ) doing sth.结构中,in可以省略。
(4) pay主要指花费金钱,主语是人。常用于 sb. pay some money for sth句型中。
(5) cost, spend和pay在一定条件下可以互换。
3.辨析other, another, the other, the others, others
other其他的,另外的,别的(人或事物);another另一个人或事物;the other(两个中的)另一个;the others 其余的或剩下的人或事物;others 其他的、另外的或别的人或事物。
