发音方式：这是个长元音，发音时舌前部很低，平放口中，后舌悄悄隆起，肌肉松弛，发出后元音/a:/音。
六、语法
1. 一般过去时表示在过去某个时间发生的动作或存在的状态，常与表示过去的时间短语连用。其谓语动词用过去式来表达。如：The students were at school yesterday. We played football last weekend.
2. 动词过去式的构成
1）be动词的过去式：am / is→was, are→were
2）行为动词过去式的规则变化：
① 一般动词，在词尾直接加ed，如：look→looked, work→worked
② 以不发音的e结尾的动词，直接加d，如：like→liked, live→lived
③ 以辅音字母+y结尾的动词，变y为i，再加ed，如：study→studied, cry→cried
④ 双写末尾字母，再加ed，如：stop→stopped, plan→planned, shop→shopped
