Procedures
StepⅠ Lead- in
At the beginning of the class, I will design a Free Talk. Do you know the sentence “ Giving is better than receiving” ? Do you know the man?________ Have you heard of Uncle Lei Feng ? He always volunteered his time to help other people. He gave out his money he saved to homeless persons, helped to fix up cars and so on. He set a good example for us. Do you often help others? Now there are many people doing the actions like Lei Feng around us. Please watch a video and answer my question. Who are they?______ .After watching it, I will help them answer the question:
T: Who are they?
S:They’re volunteers. They usually volunteer to help others.
The purpose of this part is to lead students into the topic” I’ll help clean up the city parks”. After that, I ask: Do you want to be a volunteer to solve the problems? Look at these pictures, there are many ways to help people. _______ If I have a chance to do,(板书)I’ll help clean up the city parks.
StepⅡ Presentation
1.To master the words and many phrases is one of the difficulties of this lesson. So, first of all, I’ll show some pictures . These pictures are all helpful to master the new words . At the same time, I will help students make sentences about offering help : ______ By doing, I will present the key words and expressions of this lesson, such as clean up, cheer up, give out… and show the important sentences;
(1) .We could clean up the parks .
(2). We could visit the sick kids in the hospital to cheer them up. (板)
(3). They are hungry and homeless. We could help stop hunger. ..
(4). We hope to give out food at the food bank. (板)
(5). We could be volunteers.
We could volunteer in an after-school study program to teach kids.
(6). We would like to put off planting trees. We could care for the lonely people. (板)
(7). We could come up with a plan to help the poor students
(8) .We volunteer to make some notices .We could hand them out after school. (板书)
(9).We could call up our friends and ask them to put up some signs.
(10). We could make friends with the person who used to be short, but now he’s tall.
After that ,I will have students remember the words and phrases through a memory challenge game. I design these activities to have students memorize the key words in a relaxing environment. Doing this is also to set up a base for the following class._______
In order to improve the students’ talking abilities. I’ll say there are many other ways to help people.______ Then encourage them to list the ways. At the same time , call one student to write them on the blackboard.

After dealing with the new words ,the students have known enough ways to help others. It’s time to practice the students’ listening skills.
1. Listening practice
(1) At first, I tell the students the boy and the girl hope to help others .______ Let them to read the sentences in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the sentences.
(2) Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the ways the boy and girl could help others.
