Analysis of the Teaching Material 学情分析   In this unit, students learn to talk about how to study. Such topic is very useful to students. It’s helpful to raise learning interest of all the students. Either more or less advanced students will benefit a lot. 教材分析   (1)The first period mainly gives students listening and oral practice using the target language "How do you study for a text? I study by doing…"   (2)The activities in the second period give students more listening and oral practice using more target language. They are helpful to improve students’ listening and speaking skills.   (3) In the third period, students learn to   get detailed information from an article. It is a basic reading skill and is   a great help to improve students’ reading skill.   (4) The fourth period not only introduces some new words but also provides students with many different kinds of activities. In this class, students learn to give advice to those who have difficulty in studying using the target language.   (5)The fifth period is designed to train students’ reading and writing skills.   (6) All the activities in the last period in this unit are used to provide writing practice using the target language. 教学目标   (1) Knowledge Objects   In this unit, students learn to talk about how to study for a test and give advice to those who have difficulty in studying.   (2) Ability Objects   To train students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills using the target language.   (3)Moral Object   Everyone learns a different way.   The best one is to do. That is, no pains, no gains. 教学重点   To make students learn and grasp the key vocabulary words and the target   language. 教学难点   To train students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.   To train students’ communicative competence. 学习方法   Teach students how to be successful language learners. 教学内容   Talk about how to study.   Ⅲ. Target Language   1. How do you study for tests?   Well, I study by working with my classmates.   2. Have you ever studied with a group?   Yes, I have. I’ve learned a lot that way.   3. I don’t have a partner to practise English with.   Maybe you should join an English club.   Ⅳ. Structure   verb + by with gerund   Ⅴ. Vocabulary   1. flashcard, take notes, frustrating, memorize, aloud, comma, make mistakes, pronunciation, be afraid to   2. What about…?   3. Why don’t you…?   Ⅵ. Recycling   vocabulary list, cassette, conversation, improve, forget, test, notebook, friend, English language, study, video, pop song, speak, learn, watch, work, join, listen, write, practice   Ⅶ. Learning strategies   1. Personalizing   2. Role playing 教学过程   Step 1. Lead-in: Self-introduction I like English so I like English movies, so I learn English by watching English moves. Help the students use the construction “I „by doing„”.Explain “by”. Step 2. Discussion Have the students say what they think of English. Then tell each other how they study for an English test. See the phrases shown in the courseware, which is similar to 1a. Remind them to use “by doing„” Step 3. 1a. Checking the ways you study Ask students to finish the task. They can add something else. Step 4. 1b.Listening Listen to the listening stuff of 1b, which is recorded in the courseware (convenient to be repeated). Finish the task. Then the teacher asks, ”How did Mei/ Pierre / Antonio study?” Have some students give the answers, i.e. repeat the sentences by using “by doing” Step 5. 1c. Making dialogues Work in pairs or groups. Discuss first. Then make a short dialogue. Have the students share their work. Step 6. Writing. See the courseware. Fill in the blanks. Write down the answers on a piece of paper. Ask students to read their work. 板书设计  By doing sth I study by working with a group. I study by listening to English. I study by playing games with my classmates. I study by singing English songs. 附: 研 讨 成 果 杨宇明:由喜欢英语和英语电影引出通过英语电影学习英语,导入新课自然亲切。激发学 生的学习英语的兴趣。 朱冬梅:本节课李老师充分体现了情景教学在教学中发挥出的重要作用,贴近学生的生活和学习,以话题为中心学习和应用by doing 的用法,体现了在用中学习,学以致用的教学思路。 郭明鑫:教学中,李老师很关注学生,尊重学生,并精心设 计富有情趣的活动,让学生在不知不觉中进入了求知欲极高的学习状态中,同时注重为学生提供丰富而有结构的教学课件,重视直观生活经验的情景。
