Where Is the Ball? 标题 Where Is the Ball? 年级 Grade 3 课型 阅读课 Teaching analysis: Ⅰ.The analysis of the teaching contents: Firstly, this lesson is try to find an interesting and abstracting way to teach students to read the text quickly and grasp the content accurately. Secondly, all the materials beyond the textbooks used in the class should be a wide range of sources which are from the practice of life. Only in this situation, students can find the English is very important for their lives and it is stimulating. Thirdly, the reading method is an essential skill for students to study English. So in this case, we should provide the opportunities as many as possible to exercise the students to master this skill. Ⅱ.The analysis of the students: The students in grade 3 are much more active and creative than that in other grades of primary school, and they like to show themselves in publics. So in this case, if we introduce the dialogs into real situation, it should be popular with students. The grade 3 students have learned English for one semester, which make them, have the ability to meet the basic requirements of playing games by using English. On this situation, according to listening and speaking, we can enable them to use English flexibly to do shopping for food. Teaching aims: Ⅰ. Knowledge aims: 1. Enable the students to master the key information of the story. 2. Enable the students to think about the structure of the text accurately. Ⅱ. Ability aims: 1. Improve the students’ abilities of listening and reading. 2. Develop the students’ abilities of thinking and expressing ideas. Ⅲ. Sensibility aims: 1. Enable the students to enjoy the reading. 2. Develop the students’ curiosity of learning English. Teaching important points: 1. Understand the key information of the text. 2. Grasp the structure of whole story Teaching difficult points: 1. Develop the students’ abilities of reading and expressing ideas. 2. Enable the students to master some reading methods. 3. Explain the real phenomenon in our practice of lives. Teaching methods: Skinning, reading skills Teaching aids: Multimedia, Teaching periods: One period Teaching procedures: Step 1 Greetings T: Good afternoon, boys and girls. Nice to meet you Ss: Nice to meet you too Step 2 presentation 1. Lead-in T:Now, boys and girls ,what’s this? Ss: It’s a ball. T: Where is the ball? Ss: it is on/under/beside/ between the book. T has students close their eyes and ask Ss where the ball is. T: ok, let’s find the ball together. 2. Watch and listen to the story Watch and listen carefully 3. Discuss the questions relating to the video T: Wow, there are many things in this beautiful house. Now, watch again and think about some questions. 1). What is behind the door? 2). Where is the robot? 3). Is the ball between the flowerpots? 4). Where is the ball? T: OK. Let’s read the story again and try to find the answers . (Broadcast the video.) Check the answer. 3) Read after the T. Do some exercise. (T/F) 4. Feedback a. Ask the students to complete the blanks of the table. Practice: (on / under / in / behind / beside / inside / between) Where is the dinosaur? It’s ________ the door. Where is the doll? It’s ________ the table. Where is the cowboy hat? It’s ________ the cabinet. Where is the robot? It’s ________ the fireplace. Where is the yarn? It’s ________ the sofa. Where is the red car? It’s ________ the flowerpots. Where is the ball? It’s ________ the toy box. b. Make a dialog with deskmate. Step 3 Consolidation Let students retell the story; Step 4 Homework Students should find out the meaning and usage of the new words in this story.
