1、学会询问和讨论喜欢及不喜欢的动物。
2、能运用所学的形容词具体描述动物。
3、通过听说读写的训练,提高语言运用的能力。
3.情感目标:
动物和人类都生活在同一地球上,动物是我们的朋友。我们人类应该与动物和谐相处,共同生存。我们应当学会关爱动物,保护动物。
教学重点:
1) 让学生们进行听、说的训练来掌握更多动物的名称及描述特性的形容词。
2) 熟练掌握并运用: What animals do you like?
I like elephants.
Why?
I like dogs because they’re friendly and smart.
教学难点:进行听力训练,提高学生们听对话获取相关信息的能力。.

教学过程:
Step 1. Warming up.
1. Greet the Ss as usual.
2. Watch a video. Let’s sing The Elephant Song.
Ask the students to say the names of each animal.
Step 2.Review
Show animals’ pictures on the screen. Ask and answer.
T: Do you like lions?
Ss: Yes, I do./No, I don’t.
T: Why do you like lions?/ Why don’t you like lions?
Ss: Because they are strong./ Because they are scary.
Step 3. Presentation
T: OK, everyone. Look at the screen.
What’s this?
Ss: It’s a koala.
T: Do you like koalas?
Ss: Yes, I do.
T: Why?
Ss:Because they are friendly.
T: What’s that?
Ss: It’s a panda.
T: Do you like pandas?
Ss: Yes, I do.
T: Why?
Ss:Because they are shy.......
Teach the new words.
Step 4. Learning.
Work on 1a.
Show the pictures on the screen..
Ask the students to match the description words with the animals.
Check the answers.
Step 5.Play a game.
Let some Ss read out their descriptions about animals and let other Ss guess what animal it is.
Step 6. Listening.
1. Work on 1b.Before listening, let the students read the words.
Check the answers by asking several students.
2. Listen again. Answer the questions.
1). What animals does Mary want to see?
2). What animals does Tony want to see?
3. Work on 1c. Listen and fill in the chart. Check the answers.
Step 7. Practice
Work on 1d.
1. Ss work in pairs to make their own conversations. As they work, move around the room checking on progress.
2. Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.
Step 8. Do a survey.
Ask the Ss to do a survey. Then ask two students to make a report in front of class.
