Unit8 Can You Start It?

1. To understand the text talking about a working experience.
2. To learn to get further information in the reading passage.

Teaching Important Points:
To talk about the practical experience in past tense.
Teaching Difficult Points:
To master the language points.
Teaching Methods:
Listening, speaking, reading, pair works
Teaching Aids:
Tape recorder, Multi-media computer.
Teaching Procedures:

Step1. Warming up
I. Give students some time to look at the picture at page 107. Discuss the questions:
1. What did Mr Brown show Tony on his first day at work?
2. What happened while Tony was using the machine?
II. Tell the students that they will read a passage about a work experience in the factory.
Step2. Presentation of Reading
I. Ask the students to read the words and expressions in the box of exercise 1 at page 107 before the students begin to learn the text.
II. Ask them to listen and read the text. The students could get help from the others or their teachers when they have some difficulties in reading.
III. Ask the students to read the text again and finish exercise 3 at page 107.
IV. Ask them to read the text again and do exercise 4 at page 108.
V. Let them to work in groups and finish exercise 7.
Step3. Reading Practice
Encourage students to do exercise 4 at page 113.
Step4. Summary
