Warming up 1. Sentence stress: Ask the students to read the sentences and try to conclude the rules, then do some exercises. 2. Read the conversation below and practise it in pairs. 1) Work in pairs, read A1 2) Work individually, discuss the extra stress 3) In groups, do a survey about using computers at home. Use the following questions to help you. You must add at least one more question of your own. Read the sentences and find out the rules. Read the conversation and talk with partners. Do a survey in studying group. To ask Ss to find out the rules by themselves To arouse Ss’ interests and train their oral English II. Presentation 1. Work in groups of six, interview the other students. Use “almost/not often/often” to write sentences. Show the personal work in the group. 2. Ask Ss to end up the notes according to their discussion. Interview their classmates by using the words. Take notes and try to discuss with others. To practise their oral English with friends III. Post-task Activity 1. Work in pairs, try to assess partners' work by the following standards: 1) Content (what happen?) 2) Fluency (Is it fluent? Is it logical? Are there link words?) 3) Grammar (Are there any grammatical mistakes?) 4) Spelling (Are there any spelling mistakes?) 2. Choose two or three good passages to share with the whole class.
