Unit1 Can you play the guitar? Period 1 Teaching goals 1、knowledge aims Words: dance, dance, sing, chess, play, guitar, drum, draw. Sentences:--Can you play the guitar? --Yes, I can/ No, I can’t. 2、ability goals: enable students to listen to and talk about ability. 3、learning goals: help students learn how to talk about ability. 4、emotional goals: let students have more interests to develop their ability, and love life. Teaching procedures: Step1 Warming-up In this period, ask students to listen to sounds of different musical instruments and tell what they are. And learn new words. Lead students to read. Step2 Pair work1 Ask students to make dialogues like this: --can you play basketball? --yes, I can/ no, I can’t. Then make them do it with partners. Call some students to show. Step3 Pair work2 Ask students to make dialogues like this: --can you play the guitar? --yes, I can/ no, I can’t. Then make them do it with partners. Call some students to show. Step4 Pair work3 Ask students to make dialogues like this: --can you swim/dance/draw/sing? --yes, I can/ no, I can’t. Then make them do it with partners. Call some students to show. Step5 Pair work4 Ask students to make dialogues like this: --can he/she play the guitar/play baseball/sing? --yes, he/she can/ no, he/she can’t. Then make them do it with partners. Call some students to show. Step6 Pair work5 Ask students to make dialogues like this: --what can you do? --I can…… --what can he/she do? --he/she can…… Then make them do it with partners. Call some students to show. Step7 Conversation Ask students to make long long dialogues with learned sentences. Three or four students in a group. And make them show in the front of the classroom. Then give them courages. Step8 Homework. Write new words on the papers. And review sentences this class learned.
