说课稿
This is my teaching ideas of Module 2 Education Unit 2 What’s the best thing about school? It’s from New Standard English, junior high school grade nine.
Part 1 Teaching material analysis
There are six books in this kind of teaching material. My topic is from the second book of Grade Nine.
In this book, there are 10 modules. Module 2 Education is the topic I want to talk about.
Three units are included in this module. Unit 1is about listening and speaking. Ask Ss to listen and learn the dialogue about school life, and to talk about the life in different schools. Unit 2 is about reading and writing. Ask Ss to read and understand the article by using reading skills, and to describe their own school life. Unit 3 is about language in use. Summarize and consolidate the use of pronoun and learn about another way of being educated—home schooling. I will analyze the article in unit 2.
This article is about education and school life. Ss can open their mind and improve the ability of using language.
Teaching emphasis: to learn about the school life of English students, to practice skimming and scanning.
Teaching difficulty: to discuss and write about their own school life, and to improve English expression.
《课程标准》指出:综合语言运用能力的形成建立在语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等方面整体发展的基础上。这五个方面共同构成英语课程的总目标。
I’ll analyze the aims of this lesson from five respects.
Aims of knowledge: To grasp some useful expressions through reading and understand the meaning of the article.
Aim of ability: To develop the Ss’ abilities of reading by practising skimming and scanning.
Aim of emotion: to train the Ss to love their school life.
Learning strategy: to communicate with others about their own school life
Aim of culture: to learn about other countries’ education system and school life.
Part 2. Learning situation analysis
We have learnt some knowledge about introduction of new school and expression of subjects. This topic is the one that Ss are interested in most. They will have much to communicate. So I think they will succeed in learning this lesson.
Part 3. Teaching mode
我校将“问学”作为智育的终极目标,培养学生以问题为中心的学习方式,构建以能力立意和以学生为中心的“问——思——行”课堂教学模式。即以每个小问题或新问题的“提出——探究——解决——落实——总结”,带动课堂教学的“大循环”,实现知识向能力的转化。I make my teaching mode like this: 创设情境,激发兴趣。读前准备,扫清障碍。设置任务,合作探究。巩固练习,知识输出。布置作业,拓展提高。我将运用自行编写的学案贯穿整个课堂,指导教与学。
Part 4. Teaching procedures
In order to carry out the teaching mode, I’ll mainly use Task-based teaching method. That is to say, I’ll let the Ss to get a better understanding of the article by finishing the tasks and activities. Teach Ss how to develop the reading skill — skimming & scanning and how to communicate with others. There are five steps in my teaching procedures. The first step—8 minutes, the second step—5 minutes, the third step—15 minutes, the fourth—15 minutes, and the last—2 minutes. I will divide the whole class into 4 groups to do competitions while finishing different tasks in this lesson.
Step 1 Warming up and leading in
Talk about the pictures of school life. They can choose the most interesting activity to describe.
Purpose: to catch Ss’ attention and arouse their interests in the topic
to set up a good English learning atmosphere
to prepare for the next writing step
Step 2. Pre-reading
Practise some words and expressions.
Purpose: to check the result of previewing the article
to help them learn the new words and phrases which they may come across while reading
Step 3. While- reading
There are two tasks for the Ss.
First reading—to practice skimming skill
Ss read the passage as quickly as they can and try to match the main ideas with the paragraphs.
Purpose: to make Ss learn main idea and structure of the passage by using skimming skills
Second reading: group-discussion
Ss read the passage more carefully, and then discuss with their partners to choose the best answer for para 1-3, to answer the questions for para 4-6 and to have a discussion.
Purpose: to get more detail information by using scanning skills
Step 4. Post-reading
Read the passage again and complete the timetable according to the passage. Then discuss in groups and make a list for their own school day.
Finally, according to the information points and the timetable, write a composition describing their school life. Read their compositions in groups. Then choose the best one to show in class.
Purpose: to communicate with each other in English and improve language
ability.
Step 5. Homework
Complete the composition.
Purpose : to check if Ss can master the knowledge they learned in class.
Part 5. Blackboard writing
On the blackboard, the main idea of each paragraph is presented.
Purpose: to let the students know clearly about the main idea and structure of the passage.
Part 6. Evaluation
《课程标准》要求:英语课程的评价体系要做到评价主体的多元化和评价形式和内容的多样化。评价应关注学生综合语言运用能力的发展过程以及学习的效果,采用形成性评价与终结性评价相结合的方式,既关注结果,又关注过程,使对学习过程和对学习结果的评价达到和谐统一。So in my class, I will use individual evaluation, group evaluation and teacher evaluation.
Part 7. Resource development
In my class, I will use ppt, show the pictures of school life. I will practice the new teaching mode and use learning plan to improve the high efficiency class.
