How to better our writing

Teaching Aims
Knowledge aims:
1. To learn about the evaluation standards of English writing in the high school entrance examination.
2. To learn how to better our English writing according to the standards.
Ability aims:
1. To improve the students’ writing ability.
2. To develop the students’ ability of analysis.
Emotion aims:
To develop the stduents’ interest in writing in English.
Important points
1. To write sentences well.
2. To write a composition well.
Difficult points
1. How to write in advanced sentence patterns.
2. How to combine sentences well.
Teaching procedures :

Step 1: Lead-in
Present the evaluation standards of English writing in the high school entrance examination.
Step 2. Discussion
Discuss How to get higher marks in writing according to the evaluation
standards of English writing in the high school entrance examination.

Step 3.Lean to write by an example composition
上周你班就青少年是否应该听从父母的建议这一话题展开了讨论,不同的学生有不同观点。请根据图表,以Should teenagers take their parents' advice?为题写一篇英语短文,介绍同学们的观点,并发表自己的看法。

Should teenagers take their parents' advice?
Last week, the students in our class had a discussion about whether teenagers should take their parents' advice. Different students had different ideas.
Before-writing:
1.To cover all the main points and details.

(5) Better our handwriting
Step 4. Try to better the passage in Part 4.
Step 5. Evaluation
Ask two students to show their passage. Then correct them in class
according to the standards. One by the teacher and the other by a student.
Step 6.Homework:
Better one of your compositions;
This step can help the students to have a clear picture of the whole class at the very beginning.
This exercise enables the students to find out what is the most important in writing.
This is a very open process,
which allows students to use their creation freely.
This develop the students’ analysing ability and writing ability greatly.
