B1U3 Travel Journal 教学设计 教学设计 课题名称 Travel Journal -Reading 科目 英语 教学对象 高一(上) 授课者 罗小红 课时 1课时 (40分钟) I、Teaching Material and Learning Condition The teaching material is the reading part from NSEFC Book 1, Unit 3. The topic of this unit is travel journal. And the reading passage in this unit is Journey Down the Mekong, a journal of Wang Kun who is a student. The analysis of learning condition The students are from grade1 in senior high school. As they are young teenagers who have strong desire to travel, they are interested in this topic. Meanwhile, for students of this age, they have many opportunities to travel around and they’ve got information of the river from other subjects, they may be familiar with the Mekong River. The passage is not that difficult for them. But there may be some difficult new words and phrases in the passage, so we teacher need to help the students with the words to have better understanding of the passage. At last, since they are in grade1, they are easily activated and want to share their own opinions on the topic. II、Learning Objectives 1.Knowledge objective Get the pronunciation and meaning of some new words about geography with the aid of the pictures and the sound. 2. Ability objective Get the reading skills on journey genre correctly with the aid of several learning activities. Know how to prepare for one journey. Cultivate the group work spirit. 3. Emotional objectives Stress the awareness of appreciating national scenery. III、Language Focuses and Anticipated Difficulties Language Focuses Get students to master the reading skills on the journey genre. Some new words of geography. Anticipated Difficulties Enable students to learn how to use the target reading skills into exercises. IV 、Teaching Method Task-based teaching method Inductive approach Cooperative learning V、Teaching Aids Multimedia devices and PPT documents: In order to help students to fully understand the skills, I adopt Multimedia devices and PPT documents to make it clearer. VI、Teaching Procedure 教学过程 教师活动 学生活动 设计意图及 资源准备 Lead-in &pre-reading 1、 Greet students. Greet teacher. 拉近与学生的距离。 2、 Ask about the information of their National holiday and ask them to do a quiz. Look at the pictures and think about their own tour experiences, answer the quiz and read the aims. 用国庆节引出旅游话题。问卷的目的是让学生通过回想自己的旅游经历思考旅游前需要做些什么准备,从而引出教学目标。 3、 Share my own holiday in Yunnan province. 4、 Show pictures of the Mekong River. Look at the map and get the general idea of the river. 让学生更快、更进一步融入到目标语篇的话题中,并对湄公河基本信息有一定了解。 5、 Introduce the general information of the river. 6、Today all of you are tour guides and you need to work in groups of 6 students to get the most information about the Mekong River, and the champion today will have a chance to go for a free journal there. 分组并开展小组活动。 T: Match the paragraphs with their main ideas. Do match exercises. 抓文章段落大意。 T:What is their plan? Fill in the blanks and do the multiple choice. 分段理解帮助学生更好地抓住文章细节和分析问题。 What does Wang Kun mean by saying, “the proper way is always her way”? 培养学生的批判性思维。 What difficulties did Wang Kun and Wang Wei find about their journey? 帮助学生最后做旅行计划时分析可能遇到的困难。 While-reading. Read Para3, and try to find out the geographical terms (地理术语). 解决课标要求的生、难单词的同时帮助学生更好地了解语篇第三段湄公河的信息。 Complete the form. 整体把握文章大意及细节信息过手。 Post-reading How did Wang Kun and Wang Wei make a plan for their journey? 实现教学目标。 Group Evaluation 1、Check which group get the most answers and decide who the winner is and congratulate them. 对小组评价,强化小组意识。 Homework Make up a team of six students, work with your members and make a travel plan for the tourists. 进一步强化任务:如何制定旅行计划。 Class Evaluation Boys and girls, today I really appreciate what you have done.
