资源描述
Since we entered Grade Three, instead of learning from textbooks and other language sources, students in my class have been guided by the teacher to practice a large amount of test papers over and over again. Opinions are divided in our class.(过渡句) Some students subscribe to(赞同) the view that it is essential to practice large quantities of test papers. As a saying goes, “practice makes perfect.” Large quantities of practice can help the students to achieve higher grades in the NMET. In addition, practicing test papers is also a way to learn English. However, some other students object to this practice, arguing that Rather than learn how to use English, practicing large quantities of test papers only helps students learn how to pass exams. There is a saying that goes, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for the day; Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for the rest of his life.” Therefore, teachers are supposed to teach students how to fish instead of giving them fish to feed on. On a personal note, “Every coin has two sides.” Although practicing large quantities of test papers is of great value, it is not without its problems. It is boring and a waste of time for us to practice the test papers over and over again. Overdone is worse than undone. Therefore, it is a must to deal with the test papers in a smarter way. To start with, we are to find out our weaknesses through proper test papers. Furthermore, we are supposed to do some relevant exercises aimed at polishing up our weak points. Not only can such practice save us a lot of time, but it will help us learn efficiently. After all, when it comes to study, we can never attach too much importance to efficiency. Recently, the air quality in China has raised widespread concern. As is indicated in the picture, an old man and his grandson are taking a walk in the street with masks covering their mouths. As the haze is becoming heavier and heavier, they find it hard to see the buildings and trees around them clearly. What the picture conveyed here is that air pollution is quite severe in China. Many factors account for this phenomenon. In the first place, vehicles sending large quantities of poisonous gases are a major source of air pollution. Furthermore, factories have been releasing a great deal of smoke ,which is responsible for /contributes greatly to the poor air quality. Besides, burning materials like coal or oil for homes and offices is another major contributor to air pollution. Personally/On my personal note, he severe problem should set alarm bells ringing, In a bid to better the air quality, it’s high time that effective and timely laws should be made to guarantee good air quality. For citizens riding and public transports are wise options. I’m firmly convinced that with the joint efforts of government and the citizens, there is no doubt that air quality will be improved.
