教材分析
本单元教学内容主要围绕健康的生活习惯展开，而本话题主要围绕健康的生活习惯展开话题。教材内容结合实际，贴近生活，重视学生的情感。本节课就吸烟这个坏习惯展开讨论，主要学习情态动词must及其否定形式must not表示必要性的用法。同时巩固了动名词做主语的句式。
设计理念
以听说为主，读写跟上为教学主线，通过一系列教学活动，使学生获得基本的英语听说能力，并在教学中充分激发学生强烈的求知欲。在注重学生知识能力发展的同时，培养学生无论在家还是在学校都要做个听话、懂事、健康的孩子，潜移默化进行德育渗透。
学生情况分析
初二的学生，经过了一年的学习，有了一定的英语基础知识和听说能力，但是也慢慢地失去了学习英语的兴趣。如果想把他们的兴趣拉回英语课堂上，就必须用形式多样化的活动来吸引他们的注意力，提高他们对学习的兴趣。所以，本节课设计充分考虑到让学生在充分学习了本课的知识后，再与学生一起开展各种活动消化并应用所学知识。

Step 1 Warm up
Play the chant in 3b. Get the Ss to chant together.
有节奏的韵律活跃课堂气氛，激发学生学习兴趣， 让学生轻松愉快进入到本课的学习中。
Step 2 Presentation
Show some pictures to present the new words “ litter, dustbin, smoke, article, cancer” and the sentence structures:

通过活泼生动的图片直观的学习生词及新句型。
Step 3 Consolidation
1. Students listen to 1a and answer:
1) Does Maria’s father smoke?
2) What must Maria’s father do?
2. Students listen 1a and finish 1b and 1c. Then check the answers.
3. Students listen and follow 1a.Students read 1a together. Students underline the language points in their books.
4. Show some pictures and expressions about the healthy and unhealthy habits. Students read and finish 2a. Students mark H or U in 2b. Students find out the reasons by connecting relevant sentences in 2a and 2b.
5.Students read and finish 3a and 3b. Each student must read..
6. Show a picture. Get the students to talk about the picture with “must/mustn’t”.
1. 带着任务听录音, 让学生体会完成任务的乐趣；
2. 跟着录音读课文，让学生学习标准的语音语调；
3. 通过连图及造句练习，让学生能够有浅到深的巩固刚刚所学单词及句型;
4. 通过用所学句型描绘一幅图上所出现的不好习惯来培养学生良好的生活习惯。
Step 4 Practice
1. Group competition: Get the students to say out what he or she must/mustn’t do at school according the pictures quickly.
2. Summarize some school rules.
通过小组竞赛激发学生的竞争意识，调动课堂气氛，让学生能意识到不但生活中要养成好的生活习惯，校园里也要有遵守学校的规定。
Step 5 Project
Group discussion.
Get the students to make the family rules for some naughty cartoon characters.
通过前面的学习，学生已经学会了如何关心自己及遵守校规，再通过对家规的制定让学生意识到不但在学校，在家里也要做个好孩子。让学生把今日所学句型充分运用到了生活当中，达到了教师听说为先，读写跟上的目的。
Step 6 Summary and Homework
1. Summarize the new words and sentence patterns the students learned today.
2. Homework. Get the students to make some sentences with “must/mustn’t.

1. 通过总结，让学生回顾今日所学并产生系统的认识。
2. 学生通过作业来巩固所学知识。
