英语六年级下上教版Unit11<<Western festivals>>教案
教学目标:
1.能听、说、读、写单词及词组western, turkey, bright, laugh at, jack-o’-lantern; 能听、说、认读下列节日名称:Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve;能听懂、读懂并灵活运用句型“When’s…? It’s on…” “What do people usually do at this festival? People usually…” 并能在实际情景中灵活运用。
2.通过观察图片、学习课文、观看视频等活动了解西方传统节日,并能通过小组合作的方式询问小组内其他成员对这些节日的了解状况,体会中西方文化的差异。

教学重点:正确运用句型介绍复活节、万圣节、感恩节和圣诞节,包括节日日期和主要的活动等。
教学难点:几个主要节日的拼写、读音以及相关的文化背景。
教学方法: 讨论法、演示法
教学过程:
Pre-task preparations
1. 出示中国传统节日的图片,请学生根据图片说出中国传统节日。然后学生说说喜欢哪一个中国传统节日,并说说这个节日有些什么活动(可利用五年级已学的下册Unit11Chinese festivals 的材料)。
T: Look at the pictures. What festivals are these?
S: They’re the Spring Festival, the Middle-Autumn Festival and the Double Ninth Festival.
T: What’s your favourite festival?
S: I like the Spring Festival best.
T: What do you do usually do during the Spring Festival?
S: I usually visit my grandparents and relatives. We eat nice food and watch fireworks.

复活节(Easter)是一个西方的重要节日,在每年春分月圆之后第一个星期日。基督徒认为,复活节象征着重生与希望,为纪念耶稣基督于公元30到33年之间被钉死在十字架之后第三天复活的日子。
万圣节(Halloween)源自古代凯尔特民族(Celtic)的新年节庆,此时也是祭祀亡魂的时刻,在避免恶灵干扰的同时,也以食物祭拜祖灵及善灵以祈平安渡过严冬。前一天晚上(也就是万圣节前夜),小孩们会穿上化妆服,戴上面具,挨家挨户收集糖果。
感恩节(Thanksgiving)是美国人民独创的一个古老节日,也是美国人合家欢聚的节日。 初时感恩节没有固定日期,由美国各州临时决定。直到美国独立后的1863年,林肯总统宣布感恩节为全国性节日。1941年,美国国会正式将每年11月第四个星期四定为“感恩节”。感恩节假期一般会从星期四持续到星期天。
圣诞节(Christmas)又称耶诞节,译名为“基督弥撒”,西方传统节日,在每年12月25日。弥撒是教会的一种礼拜仪式。圣诞节是一个宗教节,因为把它当作耶稣的诞辰来庆祝,故名“耶诞节”。

at 和 on放在节日前的区别:
若表示具体某天或节日后有Day,一般用on, 如on Christmas Day,
on Children’s Day, on Christmas Eve; 其后若没有Day 或者用Festival 时一般使用at,如at Easter,at Halloween,at Christmas,at Spring Festival等。
