年间曾以重油发电的方式为华侨城片区供电，后因城市发展及响应环保政策正式“退休”。作为深圳快速城市化进程中的工业遗存点，它记录了该片区经济飞速发展的历史。基于此改造项目的历史价值和未来发展价值，设计团队以此为契机表达对深圳特有的“年轻”工业建筑改造设计的全新认知和理解，试图让建筑成为历史传承与现代创新的摆渡者。项目位于城市、自然与社区界面之间，是整个片区重要的北门户节点以及连接桥梁。按照南北动静分区，形成游乐互动体验区与演艺人文创意区。整体设计通过延续基本要素、积极介入的方式，使新旧建筑之间产生有趣的关联和化学作用，从而创造一种独特的“微观城市结构”。文化艺术中心首层通过置入全玻璃圆形场地创造新的引导空间和文化功能空间，实现室内外的融合交流，弱化原建筑立面单一的尺度。由于原厂房室内光线不足，设计将南立面原有实墙打通，更换为通透的玻璃与钢格栅，仅保留梁柱结构与吊车梁，为室内注入更多光线的同时形成结构和材料的新旧对比。立面的波纹铝型材质肌理也为建筑沿街的长界面添加了些许趣味性。受到电厂遗留的油罐形态启发，以此为母题在建筑中置入高耸的圆筒（O 空间）作为新的精神空间，与室外油罐展开“对话”。天光、坡道、戏剧性的开窗等手法意在创造新的空间特性。O 空间的诞生，将整个建筑内部空间进行划分形成多义使用的 O 空间与 POWER 剧场，未来可承载沉浸式演出、艺术展览等多种形态的功能属性，形成创新型城市文化会客厅与展演融合为核心的前沿剧场集群。创意酒吧、艺术家工作室和红砖工坊原分别为华中电厂油泵房、消防泵房及圆形蓄水池。由于此区域建筑年久失修，在重新设计的过程中，设计师尊重原有建筑形制和材料尺度，通过体量的“微”变形等改造手法，赋予建筑全新的功能与意义，以“新”溯源，唤新场所空间。文创后街作为城市和文化艺术园区之间的过渡场所，通过置入更多样化的商业等多义性空间，激活后街、辐射周边。从华中电厂到 OPOWER Power Plant in the northeast part of the Overseas Chinese Town(OCT)in Nanshan District,Shenzhen used heavy oil to generate electricity for the OCT area.It was later decommissioned due to urban development and environmental policies.As an industrial relic,it records and reflects the districts history of rapid urbanization and economic development.Building on this historical value and harnessing the future development potential of this renovation project,the design team took a novel approach to the reno-vation design of Shenzhens uniquely young indus-trial buildings by making this building a ferryman between historical legacy and modern innovation.Located on the interface of city,nature and communities,this project is an important northern gateway node and connecting bridge for the area.Attuned to the dynamic and static divisions of the north and the south,the design envisions an inter-active recreational experience area and a perform-ing arts,cultural and creative area.Through the con-tinuation of basic elements and active intervention,the overall design creates interesting connections and chemistry between the old and new buildings,setting up a unique micro-city structure.The first floor of the Culture and Art Center comprises a new orienting space and cultural space through its all-glass circular plaza,which integrates and connects the indoors with the outdoors,and tones down the grand scale of the original eleva-tion.To overcome the lack of interior daylight in the original factory building,the design replaced the solid wall on the south facade with a transparent glass and steel grille,only retaining the beam-col-umn structure and the crane beam to let more daylight fall into the interior.While the texture of corrugated aluminum profiles on the facade adds a little interest to the long street-facing facade.Inspired by the shapes of the oil tanks left over from the power plant,a towering cylinder(O Space)was placed inside the building as a new spiritual space that dialogues with the oil tanks still standing outside.Together,the skylights,ramps,dramatic fenestrations,etc.give this space a new person-ality.O Space divides the buildings interior into a multi-functional O Space and the POWER Theater,where immersive performances and art exhibitions can be held to create an innovative urban cultural meeting room,forming a trailblazing theatrical and experiential cluster.The Creative Bar,Artist Studio and Red Brick Workshop once were Huazhong Power Plants oil pump room,firefighting pump room and circular reservoir,respectively.Due to their state of disre-pair,the redesign respects the original architectural forms,materials and volumes,while giving the building new functions and meanings through trans-formation methods such as dividing the volumes into micro volumes and adding new functions to these spaces.The Cultural and Creative Alley serves as a transitory space between the city and the cultural and arts park.This lively backstreet adds vitality to the surrounding areas through its diverse commercial and ambiguous spaces.From Huazhong Power Plant to the OPOWER Culture and Art Center,it has been a transforma-tion journey from a material-based factory to a spirit-oriented area.Purposeful spatial design has empowered this place by creating novel spaces and inviting in new
