一. 定义不同
一般现在时
表示经常性、习惯性的动作或状态以及真理事实的描述
现在进行时
表示现在或现阶段正在发生的动作

二. 谓语部分的构成不同

一般现在时
动词原形或三单形式
谓语动词三单变化规则：
1. 一般直接在单词之后加s：speaks, talks, sees, looks, plays...
2. 以-s,-x,sh,-ch及-o结尾的词加es：does, watches, washes...
3. 以“辅音字母+y”结尾的词，变y为i再加es：studies, flies...
4. 不规则变化：be-is， have-has

现在进行时
be（am,is,are）+ 动词现在分词形式（v.ing）
现在分词变化规则：
1. 一般直接加ing：going, playing, doing...
2. 以不发音的e结尾的词去e加ing：coming, dancing, writing, making...
3. 重读闭音节以单个辅音字母结尾的单词双写最后一个字母再加ing：putting, sitting, running, shopping, swimming, getting, beginning...
4. 以ie结尾的单词，变ie为y再加ing：lie-lying, tie-tying, die- dying...

三. 时间状语不同
一般现在时
常用时间状语：every day/week系列, once a week系列...
现在进行时
常用时间状语：now, at the moment, these days, look, listen...
