Unit 4 Why don’t you talk to your parents? 说课稿
Good afternoon, Ladies and gentlemen. I’m very pleased to have an opportunity to present my lesson plan here.My Chinese name is Cao xionghai,and you can also call me Betty . Now I’ll prepare to say Section A of Unit 4“Why don’t you talk to your parents?”. It’s made of seven parts.
Part 1. The analysis of the teaching material
(一) Status and function
1. The teaching material comes from PEP(People’s Education Press),the title of the lesson is This is “Why don’t you talk to your parents?”.From this lesson,the main topic is about “interpersonal communication”,Ss should know how to give others advice when their friends or classmates are in trouble.
2. This lesson is the first one of Unit 4. So if the Ss can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit.
3. The teaching aims are established according to Junior School English curriculum standard provision.
(二)Teaching aims
1.Knowledge aims:
(1)Key Vocabulary: too much,enough,allow,hang out,fight,wrong,midnight
(2) . Target Language: A:What’s wrong?
B:I have to study too much so I don’t get enough sleep.
A:Why don’t you talk to your parents?
.......
2.Ability aims:
From this lesson,Ss should know how to express the problems of their life and study,and can give others advice according to their problems.And they could use the new words and phrases flexible.
3.Moral aims
1. Be helpful and thankful.Rose to others,fragrance in hand
2. Be brave and confident.Life id tough,but we are together.
(三). Teaching key and difficult points:
1.help the Ss learn to give advice properly,learn to ask for suggestions politely and learn to face any problems bravely.
Part 2. The analysis of the students
most of the middle school students are the only child of their family, so they develop a lot of people as the center of themselves , some of them lack of social awareness, learning method is relatively simple, the knowledge is not strong, but strong curiosity, we should use different kinds of teaching methods to stimulate students' interest in learning
Part 3: The Teaching Methods
1. As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in the Middle School is to cultivate students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Communicative” teaching method, “Audio-visual” teaching method and “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I’ll let the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue. I’ll give the Ss some tasks and arrange five kinds of activities: chanting and talking and having a competition. So we use :
1). Communicative teaching method
2). Audio-visual teaching method 3). Task-based” teaching method
2. Teaching special features :To use these methods are helpful to develop the Ss' thought.
3. Teaching preparation: flashcards and some paper, multimedia
Part 4 The learning methods. (学法)
Use some pictures to the students to let the Ss study the key words and phrases independently.Encourage them to work in pairs and study by each other.
Part 5: Teaching procedure
Step 1. Lead-in
Greeting the Ss
T:“how are you”
Ss:I’m fine,and you?
T:I’m not fine.Because i have a could.What should I do?
Lead in the new phrase “why don’t you see a doctor?”tell the Ss they can also use “why not see a doctor?”,and let them give me some suggestion.
Step 2.Talking
Look at (1a),let Ss to discuss these problems which is serious or not,then tell the answers.
The teacher check the answers.
Use the computer to let the Ss do some practice.
Step 3 Listening (1b):
Check the answers one by one.
Step 4 Practice the sentences in pairs. (1C)
Step 5 Listening(2a-2b)
Check the answers one by one.
Step 6 Pair work
1. Tell Ss to make a conversation using the information in 2a and 2b.
2. 2. Let one pair to read out their conversation first. 3
3. . e.g. A: What’s the matter, Peter?
B: I had a fight with my best friend. What should I do?
A: Well, you should call him so that you can say you’re sorry.
B: But I don’t want to talk about it on the phone.
4. Ss act the conversation in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. Step 7 Role-play
1. Ss read the conversations and try to understand the meaning.
2. Read the conversation after the teacher.
3. Practice the conversation with their partner. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation.
4. Explain some new words and main points in the conversation.
Step 8 Summary
Say: in this class, we’ve learnt many phrases to talk about how to give suggestions to others.. Such as “you should..’ why don’t you...
Step 9 Have a test and learn to query
Step 10 Homework
1.Try to remember the verb phrases the Ss learnt in this lesson.
2. Do some housework at home, write them and give us a report next time.
Part 6 Blackboard design (板书设计)
Purpose: In my opinion, the blackboard design can reflect the teacher’s ability of mastering the teaching material. Lead the students to grasp the words and phrases, understand the usage of the polite request and permission. Require the students to apply the grammar correctly and flexibly.
Part 7 Self evaluation( 自评)
In order to make the students the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as director, I designed some activities to arouse the students’ interest of studying. The students can learn the target language easily. It can improve the students’ ability of collecting and dealing with the information. Help the students form a positive attitude towards learning at school and at home. They can show love to their parents and do chores at home every day.
