Then it suddenly 36 me that this boy was enjoying the whole 37 . The journey was his goal. For him the 38 was in the game and after the game, not just in the fun part. What a great perspective: to live each moment as it is the 39 moment; to do each task as it is the most awesome task. Nothing else 40 .
Looking at how 41 my son was putting beads into the box 42 me that the process was the goal. The joy of pilgrimage (朝圣) is not in getting there but in every 43 of the journey.
This is what living in the NOW is all 44 . Tom, my son, was showing me that it was about thoroughly enjoying every moment with 45 love and peace.

Dick often goes traveling when the summer holiday begins. But he was out of luck this summer. He went to an old temple (寺院) on a high mountain by himself. Suddenly it began to rain heavily and he hurried to go down the mountain. He found the wooden bridge was under the water. He couldn’t find anybody in the dark. He had to pass the night in a broken farmhouse at the foot of the mountain. Being hungry, he hardly fell asleep. The next morning the rain stopped and he found the bridge was damaged. He saw the river was narrow and tried to swim across it. In the middle of the river the water hardly washed him away. Two farmers saved him but he lost his bag. They gave him some food and dried his clothes. He thanked them and went to the nearest town to call up his parents.
At the end of the street, Dick found a small hotel and went in. He asked the price for a room.
“A room on the first floor is twenty dollars, on the second floor, fifteen dollars and on the third, ten dollars,” answered the owner.
Dick has only eight dollars in all his pockets. He said thanks and was leaving. The owner asked, “Do you like our hotel?”
“ Yes, it’s good,” said Dick, “but it’s not tall enough!”
46. Why couldn’t Dick go to sleep?
A. Because he was afraid of the rain.
B. Because he had nothing for supper.
C. Because he felt cold.
D. Because he couldn’t call his parents.

When my brother and I were young, my mom would take us on Transportation Days.
It goes like this: You can’t take any means of transportation more than once. We would start from home, walking two blocks to the rail station. We’d take the train into the city center, then a bus, switching to the tram, then maybe a taxi. We always considered taking a horse carriage in the historic district, but we didn’t like the way the horses were treated, so we never did. At the end of the day, we took the subway to our closest station, where Mom’s friend was waiting to give us a ride home—our first car ride of the day.
The good thing about Transportation Days is not only that Mom taught us how to get around. She was born to be multimodal (多方式的). She understood that depending on cars only was a failure of imagination and, above all, a failure of confidence—the product of a childhood not spent exploring subway tunnels.
Once you learn the route map and step with certainty over the gap between the train and the platform, nothing is frightening anymore. New cities are just light-rail lines to be explored. And your personal car, if you have one, becomes just one more tool in the toolbox—and often an inadequate one, limiting both your mobility and your wallet.
On Transportation Days, we might stop for lunch on Chestnut Street or buy a new book or toy, but the transportation was the point. First, it was exciting enough to watch the world speed by from the train window. As I got older, my mom helped me unlock the mysteries that would otherwise have paralyzed my first attempts to do it myself: How do I know where to get off? How do I know how much it costs? How do I know when I need tickets, and where to get them? What track, what line, which direction, where’s the stop, and will I get wet when we go under the river?
I’m writing this right now on an airplane, a means we didn’t try on our Transportation Days and, we now know, the dirtiest and most polluting of them all. My flight routed me through Philadelphia. My multimodal mom met me for dinner in the airport. She took a train to meet me.

Eyesight problems are common among all ages and if they are left untreated, they can cause serious headaches or other problems. The good news is that most eyesight problems can easily be sorted out by wearing glasses.
Regular eye tests are important for everyone. Children and teenagers, under the age of 16 and up to the age of 19 for those full-time education, have the right to have eye tests for free in Britain. As the eye test is free, there’s no excuse for not having a regular eye test. Doctors suggest that it’s better to have an eye test about once a year.
Wearing glasses isn’t always regarded as all that cool and teens who suddenly need to wear glasses may find it difficult to accept. If they’ve grown up wearing glasses,
