On Saturday morning, together with my grandparents, I search the Internet for the train schedule, the weather in Dalian, and some hotel informations. In the afternoon, we went to the train station and managed to buy two tickets for my grandparents although there had a long queue. After the dinner, I packed the things the suitcase, what my grandparents would need, such as clothes, glasses, an umbrella, and a map. The next morning, I went to the station to show them off. Waving goodbye to them on the platform, I felt happily for them and wished them  safe journey. 参考答案: 1.在their 后加with, 因为help sb. with sth.为固定用法。 2.search改为过去式,由时间状语“Last weekend”可知,这是描述过去的事情,所以用一般过去时。 3.information为不可数名词,所以不能用复数形式。 4.We改为 I,“我”去买票,应用代词I。 5.had改为was,这里表示的是存在,所以用there be 句型。 6.在the suitcase前加into. 7.引导一个定语从句,代替指物的先行词things,所以用that/which。 8.show改为see, see sb. off意为“为某人送行”,符合语境。 SALT LAKE CITY, March 1, 2010 --- Like silkworm moths(蚕蛾), butterflies and spiders, caddisfly larvae(石蛾幼虫) spin silk, but they do so underwater instead of on dry land. Now, University of Utah researchers have discovered why the fly’s silk is sticky when wet and how that may make it valuable as an adhesive tape(黏胶带) during an operation. “Silk from caddisfly larvae may be useful some day as a medical adhesive for sticking wet tissues,” says Russell Stewart, an associate professor of bioengineering and principal author of a new study of the fly silk’s chemical and structural properties. “I picture it as sort of a wet Band-Aid, maybe used inside in operations --- like using a piece of tape to close a cut,” he adds. “Gluing things together underwater is not easy. Have you ever tried to put a Band-Aid on in the shower? This insect has been doing this for 150 million to 200 million years.” There are thousands of caddisfly species worldwide. Some species spend their larval stages developing underwater, and build an inch-long, tube-shaped case or shelter around themselves using sticky silk and grains of rock or sand. Other species use silk, small sticks and pieces of leaves. Each larva has a head and four legs that stick out from the tube. The larval case gets wider as the larva grows. A caddisfly larva eventually pupates(化蛹) as it develops into an adult fly and then hatches. Caddisflies now live around the world in waters ranging from fast streams to quiet low-lying wet land. The caddisflies’ adaptation to diverse habitats is largely due to the inventive use by their larva of underwater silk to build complex structures for protection and food gathering. Caddisflies fall into two groups. Some build their case and then drag it along with them underwater as they search for food. Some build a shelter glued to a rock, with a silk net to catch passing food. 59. According to Russell Stewart, caddisfly larvae ______. A. can spin silk underwater or on dry land                  B. are worth researching C. are quite different from butterflies and spiders   D. have been widely used in the medical field 60. The author mentions “Band-Aid” in the passage to show ______. A. Band-Aids are very useful                                  B. Band-Aids can’t be used in operations C. it’s not easy for caddisfly larvae to live underwater D. silk from caddisfly larvae has an advantage over Band-Aids 61. The underlined word “it” in the last paragraph probably refers to ______. A. the silk                     B. the shelter                     C. the food                 D. the rock 62. The passage is most probably a ______. A. science fiction novel                                            B. science news report C. biography of researchers                                  D. social affairs report 参考答案: BDBB 22. 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。 We keep reading that TV is bad for you. If this is true, how come the current generation of TV-addicted kids is much smarter than we are? In my home, the only people who can work the remote control are the children. Perhaps TV does educate you. For example, you learn a useful medical fact: A person who has been shot always has time to speak an incomplete sentence before he dies. “The killer was…” (dies) But I guess the biggest things we learn from TV can be regarded as “Life Skills”. Bad things only happen on dark and stormy nights. Emotional breakdowns cause people to wander in the heavy rain without umbrellas. And contrary to what scientists say, the crack(霹雳) of lightning and the accompanying flash happen at exactly the same time, wherever you are. I’ve even acquired useful geographical facts from science-fiction shows: Aliens speak English no matter which planet they come from. Making use of what we learn from TV can improve our security. Consider these truths. If you are ever attacked by 20 bad guys, don’t worry about being outnumbered. The criminals will hang back and take turns to approach you in ones and twos just so you can conveniently defeat them all. Bad guys who are completely covered in black clothes always remove their black masks to reveal that they are in fact, aha, women. TV also teaches us important information about escaping from danger. Watch and learn. (1) If anyone is running after you down a passage, you will find that boxes have been conveniently placed near all the walls you need to jump over. (2) If you are tall and handsome, you can run from any number of armed criminals, and every shot will miss you. Be warned, however. If your name card says “henchman” (帮凶) and you are part of a group of plain-looking people trying to catch a handsome individual, a single shot will kill you. But don’t be anxious: TV also delivers useful information for bad guys. All cars are inflammable (易燃的) and have amazing shock absorbers that enable them to fly into the air and land without damage — except police cars. TV even teaches us about TV. Whenever anyone turns on a TV, it shows a news flash about someone they know. They then turn the box off immediately after that news item. 56. By saying “A person who has been shot always has time to speak an incomplete sentence  before he dies” (Paragraph 2), the writer shows his________. A. humor                           B. sympathy C. deep concern                     D. medical knowledge 57. We can learn from Paragraph 3 that in the real world_______. A. bad things cause people to break down in the rain B. bad things never happen on dark and stormy nights C. people with emotional problems like to walk in the rain without umbrellas D. the crack of lightning and the accompanying flash don’t happen at the same time 58. On TV what usually happens when a person turns it on? A. The news shown is always about someone the person knows. B. The person always turns off the TV when it’s time for news. C. The program shown is always about the importance of TV. D. TV always shows news about famous people. 59. What’s the main idea of this passage? A. Life skills can be learned from TV. B. TV plays an important role in society. C. Watching TV makes people more creative. D. What happens in TV is very different from reality. 60. The writer of this passage takes a(n) _______ attitude towards TV plays. A. positive       B. casual     C. negative       D. indifferent 参考答案: 56-60 ADADC
