So I approached her and asked why she had lost something. She did, her credit card. I asked her name but confirmed that it matched the card. Then I returned to her. She said she had prayed to her mother, who had passed away recently, to help her find the card. We talked and I introduced for myself, “My name is Claire.” She responded, “My mother’s name is Claire, either!” I went to a supermarket yesterday. While walk around,I noticed a credit card on the floor by                                     walking chances. I picked it up and waited for an owner. No one comes. Suddenly, a lady with an anxiously chance                       the/ its           came                    anxious look rushed in. So I approached her and asked why she had lost something. She did, her credit card. whether/if I asked her name but confirmed that it matched the card. Then I returned∧ to her. She said she had and                                         it  prayed to her mother, who had passed away recently, to help her find the card. We talked and I   introduced for myself, “My name is Claire.” She responded, “My mother’s name is Claire, either!”           for                                                            too 【分析】 本文为记叙文。 While walk around,I noticed a credit card on the floor by chances. 故把an 改为the/ its。 4. return sth. to sb. Last week, I learned a lesson about being honesty. My parents have always raised me to be very money-conscious, so I guess, in that sense, they are rather untraditional. Since I was a little girl, if I ever wanted to purchase anything, my parents would sternly(严厉地) remind me of the value of every cent, prompting me to spend my pocket money only when necessary. My mom actually came up with a system that we strictly abide (遵守)by in regards to money-spending. She gives me a certain amount of allowance(津贴) every month, and whenever I buy anything with my accumulated(积聚) money, I keep track of my receipts and record it in a little notebook, essentially a tiny version of my mom’s own accounting booklet. Being in control of my own money has really taught me to be careful in how I spend my money, giving me a sense of responsibility and ownership over it. As for earning money, aside from my allowance, my parents never really encouraged me to go out and find a job at typical American occupation locales(现场), such as restaurants or clothing stores. Instead, they would prefer that I spend my time focusing on my schoolwork, which I guess is where my parents become more traditional. Yet I still earn money here and there in little jobs, such as teaching students at my school, and of course, writing for the paper. Though I have several friends already working, I am pretty happy with my current situation. I am able to focus on my studies, all the while earning quite a bit of money, and also learning monetary (货币的) skills that are crucial to survival in the real world, and for that I am grateful.   41. What happened when the author bought anything with her accumulated money? A. She asked her parents to give her a large amount. B. She controlled her own money without using it. C. She kept track of her receipts and recorded it in a little notebook. D. She wanted to go out and find a job at typical American occupation locales 42. We can know that the author from the passage___________. A. loves a little notebook               B. likes spending money C. needs working at restaurants     D. satisfies the current situation 43. The word “crucial” underlined in Paragraph 2 means _____________. A. dangerous        B. important        C. impossible         D. deadly 44. The purpose of writing the passage is to help people ___________. A. learn to be money-conscious    B. increase their savings       C. manage their work well            D. test their power of self-control 参考答案: 41.C。 She gives me a certain amount of allowance every month, and whenever I buy anything…, I keep track of my receipts and record it in a little notebook.. 42.D。 根据文章最后一段…I am pretty happy with my current situation. 43.B。 根据文章最后一段此词的下文…to survival in the real world, and for that I am grateful.可以得出结论:monetary skills是“重要的”,而不可能是dangerous(危险的),impossible(不可能的),deadly(致死的)。 44. A。 My parents have always raised me to be very money-conscious到第二段的Being in control of my own money..再到最后一段的…all the while earning quite a bit of money, and also learning monetary skills… Why do people drink too much, eat too much, smoke cigarettes or take drugs? What’s to blame for all the bad behavior? Most people would say that, while these self-destructive (自我毁灭的) acts can have many root causes, they all have one obvious thing in common: they are all examples of failures of self-control, lacking the will power to resist them.          According to a recent study, however, if you really think about it, something about that simple answer doesn’t quite make sense. In fact, it turns out that sometimes it’s having will power that really gets you into trouble.          Think back to the time you took your very first sip (啜饮) of beer. Disgusting, wasn’t it? When my father gave me my first taste of beer as a teenager, I wondered why anyone would voluntarily drink it. And smoking? No one enjoys their first cigarette — it tastes awful. So even though smoking, and drinking alcohol or coffee, can become temptation (诱惑) you need will power to resist, they never, ever start out that way.          Just getting past those first horrible experiences actually requires a lot of self-control. Ironically (讽刺的是), only those who can control themselves well, rather than give in to them, can ever come to someday develop a “taste” for Budweiser beer, Marlboro cigarettes, or dark-roasted Starbucks coffee. We do it for social acceptance. We force ourselves to consume alcohol, cigarettes, coffee and even illegal drugs, in order to seem experienced, grown-up, and cool.          These bad habits aren’t self-control failures — far from it. They are voluntary choices, and they are in fact self-control successes. Self-control is simply a tool to be put to some use, helpful or harmful. To live happy and productive lives, we need to develop not only our self-control, but also the wisdom to make good decisions about when and where to apply it. 60. What would be the best title for the passage?    A. My First Sip of Beer            B. Do You Have Will Power ?    C. Will Power Benefits Us    D. Dark Side of Self-control 61. What do most people think causes bad behavior?    A. Being forced by others.                                              B. Not having enough will power.    C. Enjoying their first experiences.                            D. Following the examples of their friends. 62. The author mentions his experience in the third paragraph to prove ____.    A. will power helps develop bad habits sometimes    B. drinking beer is harmful to the health of teenagers    C. self-control should be developed when one is young    D. everyone can be challenged by different temptations 63. In the last paragraph, the author stresses that ____.    A. without self-control, no one can succeed      B bad habits don’t always lead to bad results    C. applying self-control correctly is important    D. people can develop wisdom from bad behavior 参考答案: DBAC
