He didn’t even look up my face. I went back my room, and there on my study table is that dictionary. I looked it up and found it’s exact meaning. Ten year have passed and I still use that dictionary, along with the lesson I received earlier in life from my old man: to be independent. 故将while改为where。 故将the改为a。 故将up改为at。 6 go back to+地点。故在back后加to。 故将is改为was。 故将it’s改为its。 故将year改为years。 This is the house where once I lived。 Time fly like an arrow. Sixty years before that, the passengers of another ship had shown even greater discipline and nobility in terrible circumstances.          The ship was the Birkenhead, a steam-powered troopship transporting British troops to South Africa. On 26 February, 1852, the ship hit an uncharted rock while rounding the Cape of Good Hope.  72   . The remainders were soldiers and officers of the 74th Highlanders, led by Major Alexander Sexton. In addition, the ship was laden with horses.          The initial collision had already caused dozens of the troops to be drowned as they slept below decks.  73   . The ship was sinking rapidly and leaning, but they continued to stand until all the women and horses were driven over-board to give them a chance. Only then, at the order from Major Sexton, did they break ranks and try to save their own lives. But the ship broke up, and four hundred and eighty-eight of the soldiers died.          In complete opposition to this bravery, was the occasion when nearly all the casualties(人员伤亡) were women and children. However, the catch is that the temperature will be at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit(华氏)and sometimes higher. The heat is what makes this type of yoga not for everyone. Regardless of your overall health, talk to your doctor before taking a hot yoga class and let your doctor know that you plan to take one. Due to a condition that is greatly worsened by temperature extremes, I’m an example of someone who can’t do this form of exercise. I can do regular yoga, but the 100 degree Fahrenheit would be severely uncomfortable and possibly dangerous to me. The climate is said to help with muscle flexibility and you will sweat like there is no tomorrow — which is believed to force out more toxins(毒素).It is important to keep in mind that even if you are in good health, the high temperature can take some getting used to. You may want to start a shorter class and work your way up. You will be sweating greatly in hot yoga temperature. Drink plenty of water before, during and after your class. It is also important to pay attention to your body. If you are feeling very tired, it is time to sit down and get some water. You should also remove yourself from the hot environment, but not into a very cold environment. For example, just go into hallway — a place that has a normal temperature and start to drink some water. Things like heat stroke are possible with this type of yoga. These issues are most often seen in those over 60 years of age, but younger people with chronic(慢性的)health problems are also at risk. Anyone can fall victim to heat stroke. Children are also especially vulnerable to heat stroke, so leave the kids at home while you attend your yoga class. If you ever start to feel had during class, immediately stop and tell your instructor so that he or she can offer you help. Don’t try to finish the class. 67. Have a physical checkup before taking the hot yoga class _____. A. if you can’t bear high temperature B. if you have some health problems C. even if you don’t have health problems D. when the temperature is very low outside 68. The author writes Paragraph 2 with the purpose of ____. A. proving some people can’t do hot yoga B. telling hot yoga isn’t a good way of exercise C. suggesting she thinks hot yoga unreasonable D. showing she doesn’t like hot yoga very much 69. People take up hot yoga because _____. A. it is the most popular and effective exercise B. it makes people’s muscle work better and forces out toxins C. it makes people get used to 100 degree Fahrenheit D. it prevents people from heart stroke and chronic diseases. 70. What’s the best title for the text? A. The Benefits of Doing Exercise B. The New Trend of Exercise — Hot Yoga C. Safety Concerns Associated with Hot yoga   D. The Advantages and Disadvantages of Hot Yoga 参考答案: CABC
