It is known to all that nothing is much precious than time. A famous saying goes, “Time is money”, which shows that time is invaluable. When time is gone, it will never return back. But it is pity that some people didn’t make full use of their time. They spend a lot of time sleep, chatting or playing computer game. They don’t realize that wasting time is actual equal to killing themselves. We always regret not having made great achievements. However, to be successful, they should first form the habit of being on time. Don’t put down what can be done today until tomorrow. Being lazy will eventually lead to failure.

三、 阅读理解
21. Somehow Rey had managed to struggle free from the rope around his neck, after being left to die a slow death as punishment for being a bad Spanish greyhound(猎狗).
It is believed that 50,000 greyhounds are killed by their owners in Spain each year after they grow too old, or turn out to be too slow to hunt with. Dogs have also been found thrown into wells, burnt alive and even injected with poison.
But Rey's intended fate(命运) was, even within the levels of cruelty usually shown to Spanish hunting dogs, especially cruel. The rope around his neck had been set at a height so that his front paws could not touch the ground, meaning that he was intended to stand on his back legs until he was too tired to support himself. When his legs finally became too tired, the rope should have done its work.
"They call it the typewriting death, because the dog's back legs struggled against the ground and make the clicking sound of a typewriter," said Albert Sorde, of the SOS Galgos greyhound rescue group. "It is a punishment for greyhounds that are thought to have made their owners lose face. "
"Rey's throat was severely damaged but we managed to find a vet to operate and, though it was expensive, he survived," he said.
Greyhounds in Spain are used for hunting hares(野兔). "The dogs are meant to imitate the swerves(转向)of the hares," said Sorde. "Those who don't, and make their owners look bad, are called ' dirty greyhounds' and are most likely to be killed by the typewriter method. "
63. Rey was intended to be killed by .
A. Kicking B. burying C. hanging D. drowning
64. The underlined word "vet" in (Paragraph 5) probably means “_________”.
A. animal doctor B. ambulance
C. animal medicine D. equipment
65. What can you infer from the passage?
A. Dogs are not kept as pets in Spain.
B. Rey was punished because he had not been loyal to his owner.
C. The typewriting death is named because a typewriter is used in the punishment.
D. Rey didn’t behave very well in the hunting.
66. The passage mainly tells the readers about _________.
A. the cruel killing of dogs in Spain
B. how Rey was saved by rescuers
C. how Spanish dogs hunt hares
D. the fate of the dogs in Spain

22. From Monday 5 October shoppers in England will face a charge of at least 5 pounds for some of the carrier bags they use to take home their purchases. The move follows the introduction of similar charges in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The charge applies to"single-use"bags — the thin plastic ones you typically get in the supermarket. The legislation says that for the charge to apply the bag must be unused, plastic, have handles and be 70 microns (微米) thick or less. Bags for life are thicker and larger, so retailers do not have to charge for them.
However, whether you get charged also depends on what gets put in the bag. Shops don’t have to charge for bags used for unwrapped food, raw meat and fish, prescription medicines, uncovered knives, seeds, bulbs and flowers, or live fish. However, if other items are put in the same bag, the charge kicks in.
The government is hoping to persuade shoppers to reuse bags rather than take new single-use plastic bags home from each shopping trip.
In 2014, more than 7.6 billion bags were given out by the major supermarkets in England — the equivalent of around 140 bags per person. The bags take a long time to degrade (降解), cause litter and are dangerous to wildlife. By introducing a charge, the government hopes to reduce the number of these bags used in supermarkets by up to 80%.
Will all shops charge? They do not have to. The legislation applies to all types of shop — from clothes shops to grocers, but only to retailers with 250 or more employees. However, some smaller shops have indicated that they will introduce a charge at the same time. Shops in airports and retailers selling on trains, aeroplanes or ships also do not have to charge.
Retailers have been told to charge at least 5 pounds for single-use bags. It looks like the major grocers will go for 5 pounds on the nose. The charge of self-service machines will still apply. You will be asked how many bags you have used, and charged accordingly.
What will happen to the money? Retailers are expected to give the money to good causes, but it is up to them to decide. They must report what they do to the government, which will publish the details each year.
Supermarkets report a fall of up to 90% in bag use since similar charges were introduced in other parts of the UK. Marks&Spencer said it had seen a 50% reduction in bags used for clothing and homeware (家庭用品) since the charge came into effect in Wales and Scotland. England’s scheme has more exemptions (免除) than others — in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland all stores are covered, not just large retailers, so the headline figures for the reduction in use could be lower.
61.What can we learn from the first paragraph?
A.Buyers must pay 5 pounds at most for"single-use"bags.
B.All"single-use"bags will be charged in England.
C.Shops can charge customers for paper bags.
D.Buyers needn’t pay money for used bags.
62.Which of the following shops will charge for plastic bags?
A.Shops with 100 employees or less. B.Shops with self-service machines.
C.Shops selling goods in airports. D.Shops selling items on ships.
63.As for the money charged for plastic bags, shops .
A.must give it to good causes
B.have to give it to the government
C.can decide how to deal with it
D.should use it to improve their service
64.What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.Supermarkets’ income has decreased much since the charge.
B.Much less plastic bags have been used since the charge.
C.The headline figures for the reduction are very exact.
D.We still can’t see the clear effects of the charge.
参考答案:
61.D
62.B
63.C
64.B
61.考查细节理解。文章第一段中的"for the charge to apply the bag must be unused, plastic"说明,收费的袋子必须是没有使用过的,因此使用过的袋子是不收费的。
62.考查细节理解。根据第六段中的"The charge of self-service machines will still apply. You will be asked how many bags you have used, and charged accordingly"可知,答案选B。
63.考查细节理解。根据文章倒数第二段中的"Retailers are expected to give the money to good causes, but it is up to them to decide"可知零售商有权决定怎样来花这笔钱,因此C项正确。
64.考查推理判断。文章最后一段的内容说明塑料袋收费制度施行后,塑料袋的使用量大大减少了。因此B项正确。
