19. Ladies and gentlemen,
Will you help old when he/she falls down on the street? A recently survey from our class meeting shows that eighty percent of the students think they are sure to help the old because of saving life is more important as anything else. Fifteen percent of the students says whether they help or not depends on the circumstances. However, five percent hold a view which the old shouldn’t be helped. First, they lack the knowledge of first aid, not know how to deal with the situation. Second, they are afraid of getting into trouble.
In my opinion, we should help each others, especially the old people. Please remember “respect the old” is one of our best tradition. Everyone will become old, and if such a case happens to you one day when we’re old, I will say I do need your help.
Thank you.

第一处 the +形容词表示一类人,the old老年人。
第三处 saving life is more important as anything else是一个句子,because of后面应该加名词,because 后加句子,所以把of 去掉。
注意:1.每处错误及其修改均仅限一词;
I used to be a person who hates exercising. But after I started playing baseball, I attracted by the sport. Therefore, I cut down on most of my spare time, like shopping. Though it wasn’t a easy thing for me, I needed to make more of an effort than others. I enjoy the feeling of work with my teammates as well as the time we spend it together. There is a proverb that goes, “The process is much beautiful than the outcome.”
I am a beginner in this sport. Sometimes people will look down on me, and it doesn’t matter It will only make me keep trying. Only with practising over and over again do I believe I can catch up with other fantastic player one day. The challenge encourages myself to go on.

故在I后加was。
故将a改为an。
故将much改为more或much后加more。
故将and改为but。
用介词by。故将with改为by。
21. There are two ways to save money traveling. The first way is to get the best deals on the specific things you want. There is a limitation to this type of approach (途径,方法) though. If you find the lowest price on the best hotel in Honolulu at the height of the season, you will save money, but still have a very expensive vacation. Trying to get exactly what you want will generally be an expensive proposition, in travel and in life.
The other approach is to be a true opportunist. This will be difficult for some of you, and entirely unacceptable to others. Nonetheless (尽管如此),the travelers who get to travel the most, go to the widest variety of places, learn the most and do the most, are the opportunists. This will be true until you are so wealthy that you have no monetary (货币的;钱的)limits. Ks5u
The first time I went to Ecuador, I went there because it was cheap. If it wasn’t, I would have had a great time—somewhere else. The trip lasted a month, and cost $1045, which included airfare and even the $130 fee for a guide to take me to the top or glacier (冰川) covered Mount Chimborazo.
I cut the cost by taking a bus from my home in Michigan to Miami, and back again when I returned from Ecuador. The round-trip ticket cost $158. The round-trip flight to Quito from Miami was only $256, because it was a courier (信使,通讯员) flight, which meant I signed for some luggage(car parts), and could only take carry-on luggage.
Never did I feel deprived, or bored. I had a great time, eating wherever it was cheap and clean, doing all sorts of inexpensive, but interesting things, and traveling across the country to climb Chimborazo. I also met and fell in love with my wife Ana.
Being an opportunist means you’ll have just as much variety, and probably almost everything you want—eventually. You just have to stop trying to get exactly what you want exactly when you want it. If the guide that took me up Chimborazo hadn’t dropped his price from $200 to $130, I would have spent $2 for a bus and gone hiking on EI Altar, another great Andean mountain. That would have left me with enough money for several other minor adventures.
1. The underlined phrase “the best deals” in the first paragraph probably refers to ______.
A. the best service B. the lowest price
C. the cheapest goods D. the best approaches
2. The return tickets from his hometown to Quito cost the author ______.
A. $128 B. $256 C. $207 D. $414
3. The last paragraph was to tell us how to ______.
A. save money for minor adventures B. cut down traveling costs.
C. deal with different situations D. become opportunist travelers
4. It’s suggested that the author _____.
A. went hiking on El Altar B. traveled with his wife in Ecuador
C. is an opportunist traveler D. likes traveling around the world
5. Which of the following can serve as the best title of the passage?
A. Cheap Travel Secrets B. Travel Secrets
C. A Travel Opportunist D. Travel Tips

22. The bed should be used as a place for sleep, but more and more people like to read an iPad a lot in bed before they go to sleep.
Charles Czeisler, a professor at Harvard Medical School, and his coworkers got a small group of people for an experiment. For five days in a row, these people read either a paper book or an iPad for four hours before sleep. Their sleep patterns were monitored all night. Before and after each trial period, they took hourly blood tests to paint a day-long picture of just how much melatonin(褪黑激素) was in their blood at any time.
When the people read the iPad as compared to the paper books, they felt less sleepy at night and less active the following morning. People also took longer to fall asleep on the iPad nights, and the blood tests showed that their melatonin secretion(分泌) was delayed by an hour and a half.
The researchers concluded that because of the rise of e-readers and the widespread use of e-things among children and teenagers, more research into the "long-term influence of these e-things on health and safety is urgently needed." Czeisler and coworkers went on, in the research paper, to point out that reading an iPad in bed may increase cancer risk.
However, software has been developed that can reduce some of the blue light from the screens of phones and computers, and there are also glasses that are made to reduce short wavelengths. While they seem like a logic solution for the nighttime tech users, it needs more research.
32. In Charles Czeisler's experiment, the group of people were asked to_______.
A. sit in a row and receive the strict tests
B. have their sleep patterns observed all night
C. read a paper book and an iPad before sleep
D. have their blood tested per hour during the trial
33. The third paragraph tells us the iPad readers were likely to_______.
A. feel less sleepy and tired in the day
B. fall asleep more easily after reading
C. become less energetic the next morning
D. have a lot more melatonin secretion
34. The special software recently developed can _______.
A. reduce the blue light from the screens completely
B. help prevent eyes being harmed by short wavelengths
C. reduce the harm caused by doing nighttime e-reading
D. be used in all the e-things widely and safely
35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
A. No e-reading in bed before sleep
B. New s
