This article presents the result of our investigation and analyzes the data, and we draw a conclusion that graduate students have a serious dependence on mobile phone. Then we try to find the reason why they fall

4、e phone is becoming more and more popular. Almost every college student has a mobile phone, they communicating with friends, looking through news, listening to music with it. The function of the mobile phone is becoming more and more advanced, and students in college almost cant live without it. The
5、graduate students are no exception. The mobile phone has brought graduate students a lot of convenience and happiness, but some students use mobile phone for hours without rest or stay up too late which damage their eyes seriously. The wrong way of using mobile phone has a very bad effect on graduat
6、e students physical and mental health. The purpose of the investigation is to get the hang of how graduates use mobile phone and their dependence on it, and find the problem of using mobile phone. By analyzing the result of our investigation, we can figure out the reason of these problems considerin
7、g their lifestyle in college. Then in order to guide the graduates to use their mobile phone correctly, we give some advice. The significance of the investigation lies in that graduate students can attach importance to the right way of using mobile phone, and live a healthy life.1.MethodologyThe aut
8、hors of this paper used the form of the questionnaire. In this questionnaire, we designed seventeen questions, and some of which involved one aspect of how mobile phone affects people surveyed. From these questions, we can study how respondents lifestyle are affected by smart phones and what do they
9、 think of being addicted.We uploaded our questionnaire onto one website SOJUMP and invited a number of 62 individuals to participate in the survey , most of whom are graduate students at Hohai University. Although the number of people surveyed is small, they are from different departments and differ
10、ent grades and to some extent, the survey can reveal some particular phenomena and stand for some point of view. If time permits, we will design more questions and engage more people in the investigation.After stating these questionnaires, we made charts with Excel so that our results looked more cl
11、early and vividly. 2.Findings or ResultsAmong 62 graduate students surveyed, only 9 are females. However, it meets the ratio of girl to boy in Hohai University, especially in some departments. As we can see in the charts below, nearly 95% of people surveyed spend less than 100 yuan a month on their
12、cellphone. This expense is not a big burden since most graduate students could afford it. And almost 45% of users data usage is below 500M, and there is no huge change between different ranges. When it comes to 4 functions that users like best, call/message and social software like or WeChat come fi
13、rst and second, accounting for 86% and 84% respectively. The former is the basic function of phone and the latter is very popular among young people. In addition, the left from the greatest to the least are browsing for news, entertainment(watching movies and listening to music) and so on, which acc
14、ounts for the reason why nearly 55% use more than 500M.Though smart phone is very powerful useful, does it affect our life harmfully? From the statistic, it can be seen that nearly 97% of the people surveyed spend over one hour a day using cellphones, and 27% spend over four hours. It is shocking th
15、at most graduate students surveyed waste so much time watching cellphones. When in class, 56% must or often play mobile phones instead of learning conscientiously, only 6% seldom or never play. And nearly 80% find it unbearable or accept it reluctantly when they forget their cellphones. It can be co
16、ncluded from above that most people surveyed are addicted to mobile phones, and we are wasting our youth.Is it over yet? Absolutely No! Almost 93% respondents leave cellphones on the bedside when sleeping, which means even when we are sleeping we are exposed to mobile phone radiation. Once going out
17、, 84% will check cautiously whether they have taken cellphones with them. If unluckily they leave cellphones at home or somewhere unluckily , 47% are very anxious and wish to get it back, while another 48% feel a bit worried. Now we are at a gathering of old friends, or classmates, where we can comm
18、unicate with others happily and share our happiness and sadness, and we are very sorry to see that nearly 20% of the people surveyed keep or cannot help playing smart phones. What is worse, 78% show understanding as they are always doing the same thing and only 22% feel angry and lonely. Statistics
19、reveal such a phenomenon in which most people recognize playing mobile phone as an important activity to which interpersonal communication and relationship should give way. We sadly find that we are connected to the whole world through a small device except for those just around us.Now many people h
20、ave realized their addiction, with 96% of the respondents judging themselves as depending heavily on mobile phones and only 4% believing they are just slightly affected. If they want to get rid of the habit of overusing of mobile phones, 84% of them will turn to themselves instead of others, and 79%
21、 will change their using styles when their daily life is seriously affected. When self-study, only 3% do not take mobile phone or shut down it, and about 31% cannot help playing it. 3.Conclusion:With the advent of the information age graduate students spend more and more time in playing mobile phone
22、s which is already their lifestyle and affects their daily life and learning badly . From all the analysis above ,we have enough reason to draw the conclusion that most of our graduate students are addicted to the cellphone greatly ,the percentage can reach up to 70% . Now the mobile phones which is
23、 full of fabulous functions make graduate students spend less time in communication and studying . Whats more it also affects their emotion for the fact that without mobile phone at their hand about 61% graduate students feel unbearable or reluctantly accept ,it is a very high rate . While most of t
24、hese graduate students do not realize the ponderance and about 20% of them will continue with their lifestyle even though they know they have addicted to the phone . For one hand ,the mobile phone makes us life easier and more convenient . With the phone we can do almost everything we want . In this
25、 world we may sit at home while studying what intrigues us and learning from the masters. More and more people who stay at home choose to shop online and so on . For the other hand ,when we use our phone inappropriately we are destroying our regular life .Our friends become more and more far away ,o
26、ur study becomes worse and worse ,so do our health .4.Discussion and RecommendationAs a new channel of the culture of public and private communication, phone plays an important role in the communication of the mass. Nowadays phone is already different from the old ones , we call it smart phone . The
27、 speed of the data transmission is quicker, and its interaction of the communication is stronger. Why are so many graduate students so dependent on mobile phone ? As far as I can see ,mainly there are three reasons can account for this situation reflected in this investigation. Firstly ,the appearan
28、ce of smart-phone makes a great contribution to it . The function of the phone is more fabulous and stronger ,the speed of the phone net is much quicker that we have entered stepped in the age of 4G,the hardware of the phone is becoming so strong that it almost can be compared with computer. Secondl
29、y , our graduate students can not resist the temptation of mobile phone .most of us cant help playing phones wherever we are or whatever we are doing . Thirdly ,of course not the least important ,the circumstance of this modern society which varies from minute to minute .What and how do our graduate

We need the right mobile phone view, philosophy and value concept in the university or in the society , especially for our graduate students whose thinking is maturing and who is the future of our country . On one hand, mobile phones at school is very po
31、pular and handy and easy belt, parents and friends communication is very convenient, still we can obtain information online, but we should not spend too much time in sending messages or playing games and so on . That is a wast of time and money . We should try our best and restrict ourselves on the
