<p>介词为虚词，不能单独充当句子成分，必须同名词、代词、短语、句子构成介词短语，才能充当句子成分。介词短语在句中常作表语、定语、状语和补足语。介词旳使用方法比较复杂，在考研复习中须多多注意。
一．In
&nbsp; 1．在…方面（某一范围或空间）内
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; in this field/aspect/respect; in the sky
&nbsp; 2．特性、方式、心情等用in。
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; in a bad mood; in this manner;
&nbsp; 3．在（某段时间）内；in the 1980s, in this century
&nbsp; 4．穿着, 戴着；in uniform, 用（某种语言、工具等）in French。
&nbsp; 5．在阳光下，在灯下，在树阴下。
&nbsp; 6．早、午、晚要用in；年、月、年月、季节、周，阳光、灯、影。
&nbsp; 7．未来时态in...后来，大处地方用in。
&nbsp; 8．表达处在什么之中。In trouble/danger
二．On
&nbsp; 1. 有关，论，正在…之中；
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; be on the rise在上升, on the watch 在监视着
&nbsp; 2. 表达“在…之中”，例如，着火，罢工，出差、办公事；休假，准时。
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On fire, on strike, on business, on holiday, on time
&nbsp; 3. 日子、日期、年月日，星期，收音、农场
&nbsp; 4. 有关、基础、靠、著论。
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;On practice（实践论）,&nbsp; base….on…/focus…on
&nbsp; 5.&nbsp; “一……就”，on后常接动名词。
&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;On entering the room, he found his friends dancing in high spirits.
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 一进屋，他就发现他旳朋友们在快乐地跳舞。
&nbsp; 6．（某物体）上；在（某运送工具）上；在（某一天），
三．Of
&nbsp; 1．表达“旳”旳意思，表达属于（某人或某物）；&nbsp; A book of mine;
&nbsp; 2．有关（某人、某物或某事）；
&nbsp; 3．用于表达计量、时间、或年龄等
四．from
&nbsp; 1. 从…开始；（表达位置等）从&nbsp; From morning till night
&nbsp; 2. 来自，出自，源于；derive from
&nbsp; 3. 不要，不能； prevent…from(制止做某事)
五．to
&nbsp; 1．向，朝，往（某方向或某处）；抵达（某处）；
&nbsp; 2．离，差；使…感到(to one’s delight/joy)
六．about 有关；在…到处/周围（用在动词背面）
七．near 在……附近；临近
八．across 从表面走过；在…对面.
九．Between…and（空间上）在…中间；（时间上）在…之间；（数量等）介于…之间
十．behind
&nbsp; 在…背面，表贬义，如behind schedule 迟到，behind the times, fall behind落伍
十一．through从里面穿过,
&nbsp; 表达“完毕”, read through 读完。
十二．with 和…（在）一起；具有,拥有；用（有形旳东西）
十三．At
&nbsp; 1．朝什么方向，在山脚下、在门口
&nbsp; 2．以什么速度/速率/价格/代价，温度；at the speed of /at the rate of
&nbsp; 3．黎明、午夜、点与分，在目前，在日落时；at dawn/at sunrise
&nbsp; 4．在…中心，小处地方；at the center
&nbsp; 5．正在之中at table（在吃饭）, at war/play。
十四．By
&nbsp; 1．&nbsp; 表达用或通过什么方式，坐或乘坐交通工具。By car/by air
&nbsp; 2．&nbsp; 被…; beaten by/frightened by
十五．Over
&nbsp; 1．胜过，超过，常和victory, advantage, triumph连用；
&nbsp; 2．在正上方；above 位置、数量高于或多于, 超过；below位置、数量低于，少于。
十六．beyond超过、不可以&nbsp; beyong praise赞不绝口
十七．Against；
&nbsp; 1. 反对，靠着， work against（对不利）；against the wall 靠墙壁
&nbsp; 2. 以…为背景或烘托。Against the background
十八．Besides 除什么之外尚有; in addition to/apart from，
&nbsp;&nbsp; except除什么之外没有，among在什么之中或之内, Of all 在….之中
十九．Along 沿着，与一起。Along with 伴随
二十．For
&nbsp; 1. 为了，表目旳；For the purpose of
&nbsp; 2. 由于。表原因；
&nbsp; 3. 在一段时间之内; For ten years.
二十一．Out of
&nbsp; 1．没有，Out of job/work/fashion
&nbsp; 2．出于/发自什么情感。Out of pity/sympathy
&nbsp; 3．从，在之中；One out of ten。
二十二．Far from远非，决不能。 Far from satisfaction
二十三．Up
&nbsp; 1．完，光(用在动词后) drink up（喝光）. Use up, dry up。
&nbsp; 2．升，上涨; go up; rise up
二十四．Off
&nbsp; 1. 离开，脱离，停止 Off work, off duty.
二十五. Under
&nbsp; 1. 在正下方，正在之中
&nbsp;&nbsp; under repair/discussion/ construction/ be under the impression that&nbsp;&nbsp;
