Where I Lived, and What I Lived For tells why Thoreau went to live in the woods. He went to woods because he wished to live ful

Throughout his life,he reduced his needs to the simplest level and managed to live on very little money, thus maintaining his independence.Thoreau did not intend to live as a hermit, for he received visitors regularly, and returned their visits. He hoped to isolat
